Villarreal should've had a penalty there. Can't believe they didn't score, they were really pathetic in front of goal tonight.

Ronaldo was looking in some discomfort and clutching his thigh at the end, also Casemiro out for the Rayo game.

Yup, and after he walked straight into the wardrobe leaving RM with 10 players, but I'm reading rumours that the reason for that might be an injury. Still looked funny, though.

Hahaha, I think this calls for El Flaco

Wait until CL semis are up. This will be the weeks when Real and Atletico could drop points, no matter the opposition. Both will focus on Bayern and City, rotate players and be tired.
We should win all remaining games anyway. 8:0 was a nice moral boost.

Pathetic performance by the 4th placed team in La Liga. Is this the best spanish team (excluding Barca, RM and AM) ?!?

Villarreal missed Mateto Musacchio, Jaume Costa, Tomás Pina, Samu Castillejo and Roberto Soldado against Real Madrid yesterday.

All of them are crucial starters...

They rested 5 starters and are already pretty safe for 4th, they're preserving themselves for the Europa semi with Liverpool. The whole world knew they were gonna do this, and I can't blame them. They also used the game to give guys like Dos Santos and Asenjo minutes after long term injuries.

Don't think they're a bad team -- they're not -- I'd highly recommend watching them another time when there's more to play for. They're a really impressive side.

I won't talk much about title here, because we all know we'll most likely have to win remaining games to win La Liga.

For 4th place Villarreal is still having a nice 6 points lead and I don't believe they'll drop that. Athletic, Celta and Sevilla will go to Europa League (well, Sevilla still has chances to win this year edition and qualify for CL again).

As for relegation: As much as I'd like them to go down, I think Espanyol is safe. They probably need another point but they'll get it in home games against Sevilla and/or Eibar, not to mention they always want to f... us up.

Rayo droped 2 points in 91st minute in Malaga yesterday that would probably also finally save them. They have 35 points now and are still in a good position, but they play against RM (home) and AM (away) in next two games, where there probably won't be points for them (I hope to be wrong of course). They'll most likely get something out of the last two games against Sociedad (A) and Levante (H) though.

Sporting got 3 very important points with a last-minute win against Sevilla (BTW, they are still winless away from home) and are now out of relegation zone for at least one day with 32 points.

Granada (30 points) and Levante (28) play a very important game tonight while Getafe is playing away at Sociedad. They are by far the worst team in second half of the season but I could see them getting some points now that it really matters. I just hope it won't be enough. If Espanyol can't get down, at least they should.

Anyway, here are remaining schedules for all 6 teams in relegation battle.

15. Espanyol (37): Las Palmas (A), Sevilla (H), Barcelona (A), Eibar (H)
16. Rayo Vallecano (35): Real Madrid (H), Atletico M. (A), Sociedad (A), Levante (H)
17. Sporting (32): Barcelona (A), Eibar (H), Getafe (A), Villarreal (H)
18. Granada (30): Levante (H), Celta (A), Las Palmas (H), Sevilla (A), Barcelona (H)
19. Levante (28): Granada (A), Athletic (H), Malaga (A), Atletico (H), Rayo (A)
20. Getafe (28): Sociedad (A), Valencia (H), Deportivo (A), Sporting (H), Betis (A)
