Best midfielder around
Nope, it's a stonewall penalty, especially if you watched it live. Even the commentators said so. Don't know what the fuck Marcelo was doing.

The forgotten XI

Once again, Luis Enrique left Aleix Vidal out of his team completely. Having been signed last summer from Sevilla for 22million Euros, he initially could not play until January as a result of Barcelona's transfer punishment handed down by FIFA but once available he played several matches.

This would not last, with the signing now seemingly having less prominence than the derided Douglas Pereira at Barcelona. With this story so fresh, we remember other players in La Liga who have lost the confidence of their coaches.

Here is our eleven:

1. Beto

The Brazilian does not have the confidence of Unai Emery and simply does not play. Sergio Rico has replaced him in La Liga whilst academy graduate David Soria features in the Europa League. Beto was a starter last season but has found there is no place for him this year.

2. Douglas

The former Sao Paulo right-back has failed to impress Luis Enrique with the Spaniard refusing to consider the Brazilian when he rotates Dani Alves. Sergi Roberto has been the preferred option with the Brazilian playing just 15 minutes all season.

3. Aleix Vidal

Another summer signing that Barcelona appear to no longer want. Vidal and Douglas are essential invisible in the eyes of Luis Enrique this season with the reasoning behind that a mystery.

4. Doria

The Brazilian centre-half on loan at Granada from Marseille has not been viewed as useful by either Jose Gonzalez or Jose Ramon Sandoval before him.

5. Angel Trujillo

Levante are enduring a horrible season and things haven't been much better for Angel Trujillo who has played just 697 minutes this season. The Spaniard has been removed from the squad after declining to play the last minutes of a match this season.

6. Oliver Torres

One of the most promising young players in Spanish football, or that's how it seemed until recently. The young midfielder had numerous opportunities to play earlier this season but has only played 790 minutes under the orders of Diego Simeone.

7. Alex Barrera

A product of Sporting's youth academy, Alex Barrera has had just a few minutes to shine this season. The 24-year-old midfielder has only played 65 minutes on the pitch with all of them coming from a position on the bench.

8. Rafael Van der Vaart

One of the star signings of last summer the Dutchman arrived at Betis with the distinction of being one of the key creative members of the team. This has proven not to be the case with the former Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur star having only played 200 minutes of football this season.

9. Bernard Mensah

Mensah is on loan from Atletico after having joined La Liga amidst much fanfare following a fantastic career back in Portugal. He is however enduring a horror season in which he has barely been able to show his talent. He has played just 85 minutes over 8 matches this
campaign.

10. Dejan Drazic

Celta Vigo signed the Serbian in the summer on a five year contract however he has only had the chance to play 115 minutes under the orders of Eduardo Berizzo.

11. Hachim Mastour

After being in contention to take away Paulo Maldini's record of being AC Milan's youngest ever player, the Moroccan has struggled during his loan spell in Malaga. Half of Europe wanted to sign him last summer, even Real Madrid Castilla looked at the opportunity but he has had little opportunity to feature in La Liga this year.

Granada winning against Levante probably means that the Valencians will be relegated. They trail Granada who sit in 17th place by 5 points.
The race for everyone else remains pretty close though.

Yes, I also think Levante will go down.

And Getafe also got important 3 points at Anoeta.

Tonight Las Palmas and Espanyol already open next round. I hope LP win this. Until there are slight options for Espanyol to get relegated I won't give up hope. Will probably take for Sporting and Granada to win 3 of their last 4 games though. As long as they don't win against us I'm ok with that. :D

Or, my perfect scenario would be:

- We won next 3 games. Rayo takes 2 points from RM tomorrow (I know it's unlikely) and AM lose against Malaga (also unlikely). That way we'd have 3 points advantage over both and would already be champions one round before the end. So we could lose last game at Granada and all 3 teams would have the same points but of course we have better h2h against both Madrid teams.

- Sporting lose at Nou Camp and win their last 3 games so they finish with 41

- Granada win at least 7 points out of the last 4 games and are saved with 40

- Espanyol could get 2 points out of 3 games (of course we must win the derby) and they ended up with 39

- as mentioned, Rayo takes one point against RM and then win against Levante in last round, they also finish with 39 points but with better h2h against Espanyol

So Espanyol, Getafe and Levante are relegated.

I almost forget Deportivo. They should also win at least 2 points or win one game against either Eibar or Getafe over next two weeks. It will be harder for them to get something against Villarreal or RM.
