I have a question and don't know if it's taboo or what, here goes.

What are you all going to do if Catalonia secedes and Barca are kicked out of La Liga? Hard for me to imagine Barca not in La Liga, but the Spanish chiefs have threatened this. Seems suicidal for the league.

Where would you play?

Behind the striker.

All supositions, but I read about Barça possibly playing in ligue1, or even the epl. Barça in the epl would kill any other leagues, though.

I read about the ligue 1 possibility, and it could raise this league into being top 2 or even 3 in the world with 2 rich giant clubs like Barca & PSG there
But EPL? 1st time to hear about it tbh

its not like Catalunya going to be independend anyway. Every state must agree with them becoming independend, which wont happen of course.
To me this is all just for show. If it does happen it wont be in the near future anyway.

Some agreement would surely be made. It wouldn't be in anyone's interest to lose such a huge club as Barca and lose the rivalry with RM

I honestly very much doubt it.

First off, Spain will simply not let Catalonia gain independence. I don't believe the government of Spain is committing to what the UK government did with Scotland in terms of allowing and honoring a referendum that seeks secession.

Secondly, if Catalonia were to break away from Spain against Spain's will (unilaterally announcing independence without a deal with Madrid), I don't know how many countries, especially those in Europe will recognize it right away. Spain's neighbors such as France might not want to antagonize Spain. Ligue 1 might be reluctant to let us in because of pressure from Spain and other political risks.

Thirdly, even if we were to be allowed to join Ligue 1, there is no way in a short period of time there will be such a high-profiled rivalry like the one between us and Real Madrid that garners the same amount of interest it does today. After all, Real Madrid is billed "the most successful football club in the world in the 20th century" while we have been the most successful club in the last 15 years. Us and Real Madrid are the top two clubs in the world right now, these two clubs have the prestige, the money and the result to warrant their status. While PSG is rising fast with the oil money from Qatar, it is nowhere close to the overall status us and Real Madrid enjoy, not any time soon. Ligue 1 with us and PSG will not be the same as La Liga with us and Real Madrid.

Lastly, I heard the French are simply not as crazy about football as the Spanish, the British, the Germans, the Dutch and many other countries are. I read that rugby, not football, is the most popular sport in France? If that is true, that just means that we will never get the same amount of money from TV broadcast we get from La Liga.

Us getting expelled from La Liga will be very, very bad for us indeed. Of course, Real Madrid will suffer as well once we are gone.

I agree with you ,it is just a discussion about the "what if" situations .If Catalonia somehow gained independence I still think the business side will win and would allow them to stay
I myself don't really care if they gained independence or not ,actually I am a bit inclined against it

I am with you Khaled, as a foreigner who knows very little to nothing about Catalonia I don't pretend to support their clause. We have no say anyway, who are we a bunch of foreigners and outsiders to determine the fate of another people/nation? I just want the best for us, FC Barcelona.

in Other news the Basque Derby Finished 0-0 Real Sociedad and Athletic Bilbao.

Their's rumors a week ago Moyes was feeling a lot of pressure from the Upper management of Sociedad and some of the players were supposedly starting to Lose Confidence in Moyes and revolt or so if their Results didn't Improve. It seems if the Poor run of Results Continue he could get the sack.

Athletic's Poor League form Continues despite the strong Preseason games vs us their form it never Transitioned into the league and as of now they sit 17th in the standings with 1 win 1 Draw and 4 Loses in 6 matches.

Bilbao are a decent side but still feel they profited in the supercopa due to us having had that tough match against Sevilla beforehand.
