What's the point of VAR at this rate ? Im not talking just about Real VARdrid , but just the selective usage of VAR in general.

Take a page out of Pep's book - "VAR is like a manager. Needs years to work properly." ;)

Can't expect thick headed refs with well documented set of issues to all of a sudden be consistent. Poor usage just magnifies what needs to be ironed out and who is the most useless of the lot.

Simple rules will make VAR better

1. Make decisions faster. Fans can see the right decision on the first replay in most cases why does it take so long in practice

2. Get rid of egomaniac cunts like Lahoz who think using VAR is an insult to them

3. Lay down clear rules where VAR will be used in any wrong big decision regardless of whether the ref wants to or not

4. Lay down clear rules where ref interpretation can be subjective (handball etc.)

But this won't happen with those Madridista refs at the helms.

Wrong decisions when ref refused to use VAR should be punished by an equivalent of a yellow card for refs. 3 strikes and you are out for a round of La Liga. Refs with least of those get big games plus things like Copa finals/semis.

A real joke that pen. But we shouldn't be surprised, this is how Real likes to secure points, and Casemiro cannot get booked for diving or anything els, because of his baby-face, it is beyond a joke right now..

Looool. That was given a pen?

This is not VAR at fault. This is a friendly ref trying to keep Madrid in the race at least until the clasico, since they need all the help they can get.

Chiringuito people saying VAR chose not to intervene, because they confirmed contact on video once they slowed it down (the replay from behind of both players at x0.25 speed confirms Casemiro got caught during the clearance with studs on his leg).

Weird ass call, but might be 'right' after all. Just as 'right' as the Chiellini-Morata incident in the way that there was a TOUCH.. but got embelished AF...

You can find contact in everything if you look at it in super slow-mo.

It's just silly on incredible levels.

Yh I know. I agree it's a ridic pen to give if you're a ref and you stand 15-25m away from this, unless you hear something, like a clear sound of studs on shinpad. But that shit can be kinda painful. I think of it as bullet not actually going through you, but just grazing you.

Still no way this is a pen. But if you're a VAR ref, what do you do if you see it this way? Call it off because "there wasn't enough contact"? Maybe.. yeah..

Seems to me like Madrid's formal letter of compaint about VAR and refs landed on the right desk. They've been treated with upmost kindness since then.
