8 points won't do it as we are better head to head. Unless you guys win 6-1 or more next month but the earth's core exploding tonight is more likely to occur than that.

Doesn't have to be 8. Like I said, Bilbao don't roll over at home so the win is going to have to be on Messi/Dembele/random crappy goal with a touch of VAR controversy in it. Sevilla are also likely to nab a point. Betis too if you decide to not go with EV conservative tactics to play solid lockdown (which your seniors don't like to play). Lots of results hinging on a Messi factor. Lots of results hinging on your team fitness and their form in the cups.

+ you guys are forgetting you will be playing lots of teams who contend for Europe spots. All of Getafes, Sociedads and Alaves teams will really come out to play against you come April time. There is 7 points between 8th and 17th place in the table... I don't doubt we'll drop some points, but you'll also drop more than you think.

Madrid have the upper hand now and even despite two Clasico losses are still likely to cut the lead to 2-4 by end of April IMO

It's as if Madrid is done playing  Real also has to play tons of matches. Most opponents in La Liga can take you points on their night.

We'll win it in the end.

No, it does not have to be, hence i wrote "potentially a 8+ lead from tomorrow onwards". A victory tomorrow is much more likely than us losing points. The bookies agree with that notion and they are in it to win money before anything else. I don't recall Sevilla taking points from us in the league if we exclude the 2-2 draw last season when we had already won the league back in late March. Must be ages ago. I can only recall that defeat back in 2015 when Messi was injured. What I am trying to say is that we have a really good statistic against Sevilla and their playing style suits us perfectly. Even more so the pragmatic version of us under EV. Of course a lot depends on the GOAT but we have proven time and time again that we can perform without him. At times even better than with him although this might sound strange at first glance. Not one single player that almost the entire play is going through. Makes us more unpredictable at times.
RM is going to play against the likes of Getafe and La Real as well. Away from home moreover.

We have a rather deep bench and squad. Sufficient enough to manage the at most 25 games left in the season.

Lol. We have a +8 and +10 points if we win tomorrow. Only a managerial failure of gigantic proportions can make us lose this title.

Again if we can survive with a decent advantage in the league until 10th of April, than we'll take it. But before that, it's a schedule from hell.

+8 and +9. With h2h advantage over Madrid. Even better. Basically a +9 lead over both our rivals. Only an idiot would waste a margin like that with the squad we have.

It's not 8.

And you've done it before several times with a team better than this and one that doesn't depend on Messi being involved in 90% of goals scored. It's no idiocy, merely a possible scenario.

I said it's 8 if we win tomorrow. We haven't wasted leads. We've won the title when we had them.

Nope. Here's what you said.

Because a lead is only wasted when you actually fall behind

PS you've also done that in your history.

We have a +8 (Madrid), and +9 (Atletico) lead if we win tomorrow.

A lead is wasted when you fall behind. You better check that logic of yours, it's showing signs of rust.

Yep, I'm sure we've done it in our history. Not with this team though.

Tonight brought hope to Wolfe.

Warms my heart.

A hope to finish 2-4 points behind is pretty much a hope to finish exactly where I thought we would as soon as Cristiano left. Would be more than mission accomplished. The less of a beating the better for team morale for the following season.

8 points between playing against Sevilla, Real Madrid, Betis, Villarreal etc. away and Atletico at home is not much, really.

Well... let's look at what we did last season in those games. With an inferior squad that is.

3-0 win to Madrid
5-0 win to Betis
2-0 win to Villareal
2-2 draw to Sevilla
2-0 win to Bilbao

4 wins 1 draw. Why should we expect less with a better team this year?
