Guess it wouldn't have made a difference to our title chances if we had a competent striker... oh wait :crbust:

It depends really. AM have the best defense in the league by far. It's like miles better than the shitshow at Barca and Madrid. And Suarez wouldn't have improved our defense, if anything it would've made it even worse. AM would still be big favorites, especially if they get someone like Cavani. But it's a possibility that with the goals of Suarez and the rejuvenated midfield with new De Jong and Pedri, and Dembele fit, we could've pushed for the title. I agree with that.

It's impossible to say for sure, but interesting to imagine. Barca rarely challenged for the title by being tight at the back. (Bar Valverde, who else has tried that recently?) Our attack and thus campaign are underperforming mostly due to poor finishing.

Yea, a tough one to answer. Thing is, a killer finisher like Suarez would've brought some serious extra points. But, at the same time, Atletico would've been first I feel with Cavani instead of Suarez too.

I think we would've lost narrowly due to the defensive fuck-ups. I personally underestimated how much Messi declined in finishing, and how consistently Suarez scored for us, even in bad games. A bit how Benzema was undervalued by Madrid.

Letting Suarez leave was still the right thing to do. If he had stayed we would be playing 4-4-2 or Messi on the wing in a 4-3-3. Both options would be bad, we would concede even more goals, and maybe our youngsters wouldn't be improving like they do now.

It's easier to cover only Messi not running much, but to cover both Messi and Suarez, then players like Frenkie and Pedri wouldn't be as effective as they are currently.

Imo, it was worth it only if you think we had no chance this season to win the title. If we would've had a chance to win the title, I'm not so sure it was worth it. It would've been interesting to see Koeman's influence with Messi and Suarez in the team.

Madrid are terrible this season. If I had know how crap they'd be, I'd have kept Suarez personally for one more season.

Thinking could get one last title out of the old legs is exactly what got Barca to this place in first place.

Changes had to be made.

There is no chance the team plays as it does just now going forward with Suarez and Messi in front line together. So cant just look at the missed chances.

If Sevilla had made a charge and Rakitic had played well.. it wouldnt change fact Barca were correct to get rid of him etc.

Been way too much into celeb culture recently. Got weird interviews talking about superstar image and whatnot. No focus. Needs a loan to get a reality check

man, im convinced this nonsense is really ruining talent in football. i have in mind neymar, lingard, pogba, xavi simons (lol), jese, etc etc

for the sake of their professional development these players should be kept as far away from social media as possibe... its a brain rot

yep, this. if letting him go results in giving atleti exactly what they need to win the league while real struggles, then its really not worth it.

Jese isn't quite part of the pack, he had a very ill kid, travelling between Spain and Stoke. Even if he was of the Benzema school of wearing flat-caps and acting like a hardman prior to his ACL tear.

Vini is a good guy, but he's gone off the other way. ZZ was keen on not being strict because he feared it'd add to already hard pressure on him. Now he's fucked up a goal vs Alcoyano and gave this pen away. Mare of a stretch for him after playing next to nothing. I think once they sort out his EU citizenship, he'll need a loan to get regular game time away from spotlight.

Unless they straight up ship him to Paris this summer. That's also a possibility.

This man gets it. AM being top for goals conceded(aka best defense, if you could say that) has always been the case since Simeone took over.
On the other hand, we and Madrid have always had the best attacks. And that won us the league.

Not even bringing Suarez into the discussion here. But having a 15 goals a season player would have benefited us greatly.

You can't be serious about Jese. He tried to start a music career while a footballer--his instagram and social media accounts are (or were) documented parties after parties after parties. Several football outlets have even run stories on how wild Jese's private life has been and how its affected his professional life. Hell, I think Jese is the worst offender on this front. There's no way you havent come across all that there is on him and off-the pitch nonsense. Surely?

As I said, he wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but he also had it rough with injuries and family problems. Unlike most others.
