As Frossi used to say, the perfect result to a football game is 0-0.

The best league, if you've had any doubts

? explain?

The saying? Frossi is a famous Inter player, later one of the founding fathers of catenaccio. He used to argue that the result (0-0) showed great balance on the field with no side committing a mistake in the end. Used to argue goals were direct result of mistakes and that quality meant less goals. Broadly.

Interesting gentelman. Also worked as a manager for Alfa Romeo.

Ah, I see. Had no idea. Principle is sound...in reality, though, Christ, no thanks.

If Atletico bottles the league which is looking more and more likely, are we finally allowed to utter the words: Simeone is overrated? Or will that be met with crazy paragraphs?

If he loses the league after being so far ahead against arguably the worst barca and real madrid squads for over a decade then surely he's not that good of a manager.

I mean, let's face it, his team is also not that great. Do you think most of Atletico's lineup would be starters in Barca or Real? It's a genuine question.

Sure, he got a very hefty lead at some point, but you can also argue that he got that lead by getting his team to overperform, which is not necessarily sustainable on the long run, even with a great coach. That being said, I don't think he's in the same league as the best managers around, but what he did for Atletico is still pretty amazing to me, overall.

For one thing, Simeone certainly doesn't deserve to be the highest paid manager in Europe. What justifies that?

It's more a "loyalty pay", similar a bit to us paying Messi the crazy amount that we do. Of course he doesn't deserve it, but he did have a key role into what Atletico are today. So the money is a reward for that as well.

It's a way of rewarding past achievements. I don't agree with it myself either.

Hard to know which squad of players is better. I'd say their GK and defence is stronger. Their midfield about the same. Forwards are below but only due to us having Messi. I think them not winning a trophy considering our squad and Real Madrid's squad would be underperforming.
