i cant think of a single league that meets that standard. not seria a in the 90s and not LL 2008+.... i think the logic undervalues what a CL is worth

My take is more nuanced than yours. Valuing CLs and LLs depending on the level of competition.

While all you've shown so far is ask people what they think CL is worth while already having a dead set view of that worth to begin with lol.

well, if domestic leagues are that competitive, that only means more strong teams are competing for the CL, not only from that particular league but others as well. that just makes the CL harder to win--because you have to defeat strong domestic competition in Europe and strong foreign competition. i think 3 LLs might be a CL, but not 2. that's too cheap.

agree about stronger league meaning stronger domestic competition. But that has no bearing on strong foreign competition. In fact, there's rarely been instances where there's been two dominant national leagues internationally.

no, i mean that strong domestic competition will translate into a stronger overall CL--like when Real and Barca were routine semi-finalists and finalists between 2008-2015 (since we dropped in level after that) or when united, chelsea, liverpool and arsenal were routine quarter and even semi-finalists in the CL in the mid 2000s to 2010ish

those were clearly periods in which the domestic league in question (la liga, EPL) was very competitive--and that translated into a stronger CL because it means the eventual winners would likely face all of those teams

4-2-3-1 with Modric and Isco as the midfield two, Asensio in front.
Cucu and Alena on each wing for Getafe.

Getafe's next game is against us on thursday. Let's hope they go all in tonight :messi:

But what I'm saying is while stronger league competition does mean stronger CL in some respect, there's still 28 other teams to consider...

Besides Barca and RM only faced each other 1 time when they were both making SFs/finals between 08-15. So, no "the eventual winners would likely face all of those teams" doesn't really hold.

thats true...but its still a possibility...i also cant think of a single (top 5) league at any point in history that has had 28 actually competitive teams. for example, the EPL is touted as 'competitive' all the time but the top 6 teams hardly ever drop points against the lower 6 (there was a very absurd statistic about this i think last year, showing this exactly)...when we say 'competitive' that usually just means there are at least 3, and perhaps up to 6 (at the extreme end) potential winners. the '28' figure is very exaggerated
