Wait, why did the Villarreal-Sevilla match have spectators in the stands?

The public will be able to return to watch football matches inside the stadiums in Spain but only in the regions which are in Phase I of the government's de-escalation plan (areas with a stable seven-day incidence of less than 50 new infections per 100,000). It means that 14 months after the pandemic forced all football and basketball games in Spain to be played behind closed doors, the government have given the go-ahead for fans to return in the final games in the top two football leagues and the Liga Endesa, the basketball top flight - but not in every part of the country. Four autonomous communities - Valencia, Galicia, Extremadura and Baleares will be able to welcome the public back.

Would we have won against levante and celta if we would have won against granada ?

highly unlikely we would have won both. ultimately we never looked like champions. we had our purple patch when atletico had their poor one, that's why we were even in contention.

also, we were a bit lucky that sevilla was also in bad form when we faced them and barely got through that cup game were they missed a penalty and we equalized in the end.

think exactly the same, the only match which has surprised me was the away match against PSG in which we had really dominated them but on the other side you have to keep in mind that paris doesn't really do it seriously because of the first leg result.

Yeah, they are undeperforming, don't think their team is really that bad. They're missing Lucas Perez's goals. He and Joselu have both scored 11 goals last season. Joselu is now at 7 so he could still reach last year's mark but Perez only has 4 goals.

Javi Calleja has already been named their new coach, we'll see if he can save them.

But at least they beat Madrid away earlier in the season (still under Pablo Machin).

Great job by Calleja.

When Alav?s hired Javier Calleja:

20th in LaLiga.
7 without a win.
6 goals in 10 games.
24 goals conceded in 10 games.
1 win in 2021.

Since then:

15th in LaLiga and safe.
3 wins, 3 draws, 1 defeat.
3 clean sheets.
8 goals in 7 games.

What a turnaround

If Atletico won't win their game today they will go down in history as the biggest LL bottlers of all time.

And still they will have taken more points than in their previous five years, be ahead of Barcelona in the table, and maybe even win the league anyway.

Since Barcelona declared every remaining game a final, they have taken 5/15 points and you know the teams; Levante, Vigo, Granada, Atletico... In the same weeks, Atletico took 10/15 points.

They are already the biggest LL bottlers, they bottled their entire 13 point lead, and are only still ahead because RM and Barca failed to take advantage.

Of course, no one at AM is gonna care when they win it though.

What's undeserved about it?

About this title? You think your team deserves it? Granted, Atletico isn't a powerhouse either and we are shambles, but you gotta admit that at least in half of your matches you falled asleep watching it. This is the most lacklustre Madrid team i saw in ages, and that includes that team you had at the end of the 2000's.

Madrid have been pressuring the refs all week. Let's hope for no shenanigans.

Atleti has got this. If they manage to lose LaLiga then Simeone should change his name to Simeovski, join the Russian circus and disappear.
