Monchi messed up but Sevilla had issues being able to register any new players due to the salary cap. That's why it was reported they had hoped to sell Kounde late june or early july but it took a lot more time than they hoped for.

Elche sacked Jorge Almiron after just 5 games (2 draws, 3 losses). That's not a whole story though. Combined with his previous spell at the club at start of the 2020/21 season he went 21 consecutive games without a win which is the longest winless run in La Liga history for a coach managing a single club. Most coaches obviously get sacked way before they would be without a win for so long but he actually got a second chance despite not winning previous 16 games in charge. :lol: And that was mostly because Elche's owner (Christian Bragarnik, he was also agent of Maradona back in the days) is also an owner of football agency Scorefutbol who are representing Almiron.
