OKidoki, there's another one in two days...
I am not quitting till Saturday, it seems.
More beer and mortal nicotine, I'll need, to prop up the adequate mood of excitement.
This is much tougher a deal than Bayern Munich. Can be done but let's not despair, if there's no win. I do think, it can be done, if so, the sky is a limit for this team. Think big!

Madrid won't be able to press and move like Bayern did.

We just run 126km versus Bayern with Bayern themselves running 120.

Madrid ran 102km with Dortmund running 107km. Incredible low energy match which Dortmund overran than for a half in.

Levels to this.

If we bring that level of intensity to Bernabeu then they can not match us.

They probably can't press as aggressively as Bayern did in the first 20-30 mins.

But they can do much more damage than Bayern if they arrive in dangerous situations of play, which Bayern in the first half often managed to do.

So... a considerably harder match all things considered. Away, vs a team with superior mentality, having superior players.

It is key to not let them make runs behind our high line with players like Modric for example or Bellingham having the freedom to pick out a pass unbothered and fast attackers like Vinicius and Mbappe making the runs. Once they go and they are on, every time it's gonna be a big chance for them to score. We can easily concede 3-4 goals if we don't get this balance right.

Good post.

We could easily score 3-4 too though. Madrid defence is not good and Dortmund had then on the ropes for the first half. Nuri Sahin then showed that he manages like he played, for 45 minutes.

Jokes aside, those goals we created versus Bayern should come easier versus Madrid because they just don't press like Bayern. But of course we might be more fatigued.

Should be an absolutely cracking game after both of the big wins in Europe.

The big worry for this game, will be the same as with Bayern, the offside trap, expect here madrid players can start their runs from deeper because they are much faster, that with midfielder runners who will be onside more often than not.

Not to mention they will pepper the goal with long range shots to test pena.

But I'm here for it, I never fear Madrid, FUCK them, we will win.

Yes... very true. I actually hope Modric doesn't start. He's their most creative player and I doubt he'll waste any opportunities to quickly get Vini or Mbappe in a decent chance like Bayern players used to do last night. They need to be very careful about that.

Would be ideal if we could get an early lead like against Bayern. If we concede first then it might be fucked up.

German Madrid fan page reports he's out for the clasico. But Lunin is no Pena, no big loss there.
Lunin is a great keeper but nothing close to Courtois. Remember Lunin's performance against us last season lol. He didn't have the best time. Really good news that Courtois is out. With Courtois on goal I just can't see Raphinha banging those goals he did vs Bayern. With Lunin I also don't see it but Courtois is a fucking beast, vs Dortmund for example he bailed them out of a certain defeat. But that's just one example. With Lunin on GK Madrid would be in a MUCH worse position than they are so far this season.

Intensity is hardly what determines wins at all
If you have both teams going for it, it's a matter of which one is sharper and makes fewer mistakes
In-form players like Raphinha help, but can also be marked out the game + shots stopped if keeper plays equally well
If however one of them is intent on snuffling the other out, you'll have a different game

Ancelotti is known to try and slow the game down
It's whether Flick will urge to get team to close down (I reckon he will) or if he doesnt
If he does, Barca have to be clinical and do well recovering the ball, elsewise will get as or more tired than Real chasing the ball
And tired teams will get nailed on by Vini and Mbappe late in game
See Liverpool v Atleti at Anfield, and many other examples

Hope we start the same lineup vs Madrid. Except maybe Olmo instead of Fermin.
Yeah, I think Flick won't change a winning team as long as they're fit. I wouldn't start Olmo so soon, he's too injury prone to risk him again. Ancelotti watched our game yesterday for sure and won't repeat the same mistakes with a high back line, I'm sure of it. I expect a Madrid that sits deeper and gives us the ball, to wait for mistakes and fast counter attacks.
Flick needs to prepare the team for Madrid's power phase, that will surely come in the second half. That's when it counts against them to hold the ground. Otherwise you can still lose in the last 15 minutes even being 2 goals up.

No, he's out together with Courtois. I expect a diamond formation from them:

--------------Lunin
Vasquez Militao Rüdiger Mendy
----------Camavinga
---Valverde--------- Modric
----------Bellingham
----Mbappé----- Vinicius
Tushy surely starts? Modric doesn't seem to start two intense games in a row anymore.
