We just needed a goal man, and the whole game was enjoyable. WTF

1. too many youngsters.
I know, we don't have money.
But now we are paying the price.
A lot of these kids don't know what to do under pressure.

2. we don't have enough of natural finishers.
Besides Lewa, Raphinha and maybe Olmo, other players are more playmakers and possession recyclers than scorers.

I know, I know, it worked 15 years ago with Xavi, Iniesta and Busi, but in 2024/25, you just need to have more players who can score and who have a killer instinct.
Ok, Fermin and Ferran do have some finishing skills, but they suck in other areas.

We don't have enough players who are both creators and scorers.
We have a million of creators.

3. some players are just not good enough.
On my personal hate list, on top of the list are Gavi, Fermin, Balde.
Gavi is a jack of all trades, master of none.
Fermin is a good CAM finisher, but a meh overal footballer.
Balde is meh both in attack and defense.
His defending for the goal in the 95th minute was criminal.
He literally forgot to mark him man in the counter in the 95th minute. Insane.

About Gavi, we are his hostages currently.
He was the best young footballer in the world, he is the face of Barcelona.
Since he returned, our play and results went to hell.
You can't sell him.
You can't play him.
A tough situation.

Agree with your 1st point. Not much with 2nd. Except Raf, I would argue we do not have any finishers, we cant rely on Lewa, he is old, and its almost a 60-40 chance that the person coming out of the tunnel is a bum than the 2020 Lewa these days. And the more time it goes, the more likely its a bum.

3rd Point. Balde yes, he is on my Fraudlist now, guy just runs up the pitch and croses without looking, or runs halfway up with the ball, turn back and passes to the CDM or CM or Inigo. Head less chicken, and we need a proper attacking LB if our LW is non exixtant, like yesterday, or when Raf plays cuz hes more of a CF covering Lewa most of the game. You know what, we can thnk about LW later, we need LB first, and then ases if we need a proper LW.
Fermin, was bad. He goes into the Watchlist of tobe Frauds. Lets see how he recovers. This was his type of game, and as he was up front to the goal, these are the matches he used to show up. Looks like, he's more suited to be a super sub, than a starter. Still would take him in LW than Ferran. For gods sakes, we are doomed.
Gavi. Hard disagree. He was actually good this game. The mid field did its job, creating chances galore. It was the Front 3 that lost us the game. AM had 3 chances and scored 2 of them, how can you blame the Mid field in that. Gavi was good, and you have to keep this in mind, he is comming out of an ACL. And he was actually our 3rd best player on the pitch.

Yesterday's football showed its ugliest side again. You can play much better, dominate your opponent the whole game, run more, finish 5 times more and still lose the game.
The only thing I blame is, that the players didn't keep their head cool in the end to take the draw. It wasn't a knock-out game, there was no need to go all-in in the end, as you were gifting free points to your direct opponent. Sorg had to intervene in the end, but obviously it's easy to talk in hindsight when everyone wanted to win badly.

In 9/10 games we win this. Reminds me a bit of Pep's Barca against Mourinho's Inter in 2010. Yesterday, it wasn't a physical problem, but a mental one. Every team has these kind of games throughout the season, but the problem is that we lost our form 2 months ago and are forced to start a winning streak again as fast as possible if we don't want to lose the league in the start of 2025.

A very frustrating lose, but this game showed the team's football level when it counts and Flick can build on that. If he can solve the mental blockade again and keep the team's physique like yesterday, we'll soon be on track again.
Most of the players returned by now, Flick has finally options to rotate. Gavi made his best game after his return, he will be a serious option going forward. Araujo and Christensen are fit again to strengthen our defense or give Casado pauses.
The current form is also a result of Flick was forced to play the same players for the first 2-3 months when he had up to 9 injuries simultanously. Because he only had third division players on the bench and when he rotated them in, we remember what happened in Osasuna.

The christmas break comes at a good time. The players need to forget the last two months, reset to factory setting and start the new year as they started the season. We can only stop ourselves, as we've seen in all of the top games so far. The good thing is, we can start the new year by trashing Madrid in Saudi Arabia and gain confidence for the second half right away.

You can't blame it on the youngsters when you lose so many points vs midtable and bottom table teams. Let's get that right. This is where the manager has to take responsability.

We paid a big price for fucking up often in games you absolutely need to win to stand a chance to claim the title.

We continue to do that, league fight will be done by february. We cut that shit, we have a chance to get back in it and even win the whole thing.
