If it were only that easy, instead of going to work, I would be on my yacht between Key West and Cuba fishing for Marlin like Hemingway...and I don't even have any yacht. 😢Believe it or not, but yesterday during halftime, when Madrid was leading 1-0, I knew that Tek hadn’t lost a game since he is playing in Barcelona. So, I placed a €200 bet on a win or a draw. Now I’m over €200 up!
Too bad I didn’t place the bet when it was 2-0—then I could’ve made around €2000. But oh well, that’s how it goes!
Season was off and then Vinicius came back.well, just some weeks ago many here were already writing the season off so give it some time for the bandwagoners to jump on/off still
You can do it. Until Tek is as GK, You can be richIf it were only that easy, instead of going to work, I would be on my yacht between Key West and Cuba fishing for Marlin like Hemingway...and I don't even have any yacht. 😢
If Barca wins the Super Cup especially against Madrid expect a big run. Barca is energized when Madrid gets closer. Even last year both League matches Barca played pretty good during a terrible season.
Atleti are on a big run like early season Barca. They are due to fall off. Madrid has a decimated defense. If they win a UCL/League with this defense we may as well pack it up for the next 5 years.
If anything, we proved to be a better team than Atletico. Not a great consolidation for the embarrassing result but it gives a little bit of hope that it could eventually prevail.
There is not much question around our complete domination in direct encounters against other teams involved in the title race.
Along with that, there is no doubt that Atletico, as well as Leganes, was already a much better game than those in the early days of terrible form; Sociedad, Celta, Las Palmas... It shows sign of improvement.
There is now a long time for them to recover both physically and mentally from all this mess. A solid run of 5-6 wins, which is realistically possible, could give us the leader position again.
After this break, our next 5 league games are: Getafe, Valencia, Alaves, Sevilla and Rayo. That's a relatively easy schedule. Relatively, as consdering we already lost to likes of Leganes and Las Palmas so can't rely on such assumptions. However, if we are back to our best or at least a part of it we should be having no problems in those games.
Real and Atletico schedules are a little more complex, but they probably won't have problems either. They will meet on Feb 9 on Bernabeu so a draw there would do good for us.
Yesterday's football showed its ugliest side again. You can play much better, dominate your opponent the whole game, run more, finish 5 times more and still lose the game.
The only thing I blame is, that the players didn't keep their head cool in the end to take the draw. It wasn't a knock-out game, there was no need to go all-in in the end, as you were gifting free points to your direct opponent. Sorg had to intervene in the end, but obviously it's easy to talk in hindsight when everyone wanted to win badly.
In 9/10 games we win this. Reminds me a bit of Pep's Barca against Mourinho's Inter in 2010. Yesterday, it wasn't a physical problem, but a mental one. Every team has these kind of games throughout the season, but the problem is that we lost our form 2 months ago and are forced to start a winning streak again as fast as possible if we don't want to lose the league in the start of 2025.
A very frustrating lose, but this game showed the team's football level when it counts and Flick can build on that. If he can solve the mental blockade again and keep the team's physique like yesterday, we'll soon be on track again.
Most of the players returned by now, Flick has finally options to rotate. Gavi made his best game after his return, he will be a serious option going forward. Araujo and Christensen are fit again to strengthen our defense or give Casado pauses.
The current form is also a result of Flick was forced to play the same players for the first 2-3 months when he had up to 9 injuries simultanously. Because he only had third division players on the bench and when he rotated them in, we remember what happened in Osasuna.
The christmas break comes at a good time. The players need to forget the last two months, reset to factory setting and start the new year as they started the season. We can only stop ourselves, as we've seen in all of the top games so far. The good thing is, we can start the new year by trashing Madrid in Saudi Arabia and gain confidence for the second half right away.
Happy holidays and visca barca!
Inigos assist too. Quite unorthodox from his position and being CB. Flickball.World class goal that. ^^^^^
