QUOTE=malvolio;2161508]what's the point in getting raul jimenez for 60-70 millions when you can pay extra for lautaro who is 7 years younger? and even stats wise lautaro is slightly better.

What is the point of paying extra 50 millions to get Lautaro then? I am not fan of Raul Jimenez but Lautaro is exactly the type of player we don't need at this moment.
Why? I will explain it to you.

1. We are interested in Lautaro to be our new # 9, but we have Suarez who will be the starter. No need to pay 111 m. for a sub.
2. Buying Lautaro will means most likely he will play out of position, but where? That is the biggest question.
a) He can not play as a second striker/ false # 9, because Messi plays there.
b) He can not be moved to the left wing, because Griezmann plays there lately.
c) He can not play as a RW, because we have there Dembele and Trincao.
3. Where then he is going to play in Barcelona?

Most of Lautaro lovers are like blind these days. They go to the bad and wake up in the morning with only one idea in there heads. They don't think that this guy is very, very expensive and won't fit in our XI. For them, the fact that he is Hispanic is good enough. Nothing else is more important for them. A true Barcelona fan is the one who wants the best for his team, regardless of race, nationality and language. That is why, I can not respect these people.

Great post BBZ.

I already said that Lukaku is more important for Inter then him...This guy was bullied by our 4th CB Todibo. He was so more athletic then him, fast, stronger it was looking like he was playing against kid.

We dodged Neymar bullet, if we can dodge this bullet named Lautaro next year we can buy some great player.

Imagine if Ratomeu didn't buy Griezmann...

I have said it many times already. We have more than enough players up front with Messi and Suarez as 100% starters. We don't need anyone else. This summer we should address our needs at the back and at the midfield. That is more important.

By the way, Inter management has turned down all players we had offered in the Lautaro package. Corrierre de la Serra even ask a question: Are you stupid or just amateur? WOW!

We seem to be going after the wrong player profiles until one of them proves to be so good and versatile that he succeeds. Not the wisest of tactis.

Not the wisest tactic of course and at financial standpoint, if we add Neymar and Lautaro, that will be like 720 mil. thrown in vain.

Lets hope Inter will want money and Barto can't pay it.

Dembele-Fati-Trincao-Braithwaite-Suarez-Messi-Griezmann.

We should sell one, and then we have 6 players. Dembele will be injured so it is 5.

How would you get rid of the French carbones dude? The asking price for Umtiti, Dembele and Griezmann is that high that no one wants to buy them? Rumors are just rumors, but the reality is that we will stick with them. No other chance.

"To get our South American attack together."
With 33 y.o. Suarez and 32 y.o. Messi ? Both of them are in their obvious downhill. And Lautaro and Suarez are playing at the same position, so how that is going to work? It is not like you have Suarez @ 24, Messi @ 23 and Lautaro @ 22. But, of course, you are one of the few Lautaro's fans here who do not care about the success of the team. Just to add another Hispanic. That is more important for you.

Beto Yaque (agent of Lautar Mart?nez): "Yes, we are negotiating with some clubs and one of them is Bar?a, but I will not say anything more. Lautaro is a great player and of course there is interest from big European clubs. A lot of what the media writes is not true, but you will find out in time. "

It looks like he will come. I have mentioned earlier that he is not my preferred option but if we get him, then we get a 9 who can offer some of the things players like Firmino/Benzema and to some extend Griezmann offer. A playmaking 9. This means that we have to get some speed on the wing. We should try to replicate Liverpool frontline. With a 9 like Lautaro speed on the wing is crucial.

We don't need play-making # 9 because we have Leo Messi. We need true # 9 who can replace Suarez, but unfortunately that won't happen anytime soon. Suarez will start every single game next season.

I watched some highlights just for Argentina. He looks much better then in Inter.

he plays more like our suarez when he is with argentina. works more, gets stuck in and harasses defenders, likes to go into channels, tries more one-twos.

jokes apart and the fact some people in here are so riled up by barca trying to get him, i don't see much wrong with him. even has good heading/placement technique as he scored a couple of headed goals while he's only 1.74m tall.

sure price tag puts some pressure and finishing is suspect(but maybe this comes with experience also). we'll see how he turns out.
