Lautaro Martinez

I think Bartomeus strategy has shiftet towards "make Messi happy" which means buy Neymar and/or Lautaro. Coutinho/Dembele/Griezmann was the boards own idea, Neymar/Lautaro is Messis. Messi can then build a connection with Lautaro towards next world cup, after which he will retire.

One thing Lautaro will have going for him when he comes, is that Messi wants him to succeed.

Therefore, and only therefore, he will probably outscore Griezmann. I just wish Messi would have the same attitude towards Griezmann, who is clearly a world class player, who we have already bought.

I would be pissed if I was Messi. He gets far too much shit for not integrating Griezmann enough, but realistically theres just absolutely no decent position for him in our squad/lineup.

Thats some laughable statement that was deployed by who ever the fuck, like messi is some evil twat who doesnt want players to succeed here. I think villa was first rumoured after that 'fight' they had during the game.
It would be interesting if someone could see the stats how many times messi combined with wingers(pedro, neymar, di maria, dembele) and with those who are not that(coutinho, griez, villa) and i believe that you could extract a pattern which clearly can indicate that latter players dont know how to position/play on the wings.
My opinion is that if griez play as am that they would have a lot more link up play then they have now.

As we saw in arg national team, lautaro as a striker has a lot understanding with leo, and i think he would be a good fit here

We need to replace Semedo some how. We can't rely Roberto to be #1 guy.

Semedo wants to leave anyway, irregardless of Martinez. If we end up with 60ME+Semedo (going to Juventus/City) for Martinez I would be more than happy. Helps that I dont rate him at all. Roberto+Dest, Emerson,(...) is fine.

Yeah Semedo is not a world beater but I feel the world doesn't have too many good RBs in general. Who could replace him?

Well it seems like this is frist video on YT where is showed that Martinez also have some skills...I changed little bit opinion on his dribbling skills.

I never seen someone like Barca fan base.

We don't want old players like Pjanic, we don' want young players like Dest.
If we want to buy already established player in his best years 23-26 then we need to pay more , then it is also problem.

I would like Dest on RB to switch with Roberto. I agree he is young, but sometimes you need to risk.

Roberto is (arguably) as good (or slightly worse), which makes replacing him quite risk free.

I personally have my heart set on Emerson. Hes young, tenacious and energetic, something we badly lack. Same reason I want Lautaro as well (and Bruno Guimaraes). We lack character more than anything.

How would you line up with Lautaro?

I would like us to try Lautaro-Messi-Griezmann to minimize Messis impact on our defesive structure, but honestly no idea if that works out (maybe too narrow). Otherwise we still have plenty of wide options - Fati, Dembele, Braithwaite, Trincao... We have to find some lineup to make Griezmann work though, we cant just write off another 100ME+ signing.

Realistically it will be Lautaro-Messi-Griezmann and I just can't see how it will fix our current problems regarding our structure on the pitch with Suarez in there. Three players who are all ball to feet players who like to play around the box, who all aren't good wide, lack of pace, no runs in behind (maybe a few from Lautaro), probably not the best in transitions either. What will we do when teams close the middle and who will track back to help our fullbacks who probably is going to be a 18 year old kid?

Exactly. Only unreliable/injured Dembele as a true winger who can be regarded as a starter if it’s those 3.
