The pressure at clubs at Barca, Real Madrid, Bayern and such clubs is not for everyone.

Guys like Lopetegui were rated as highly as Glasner years ago and we all saw him crumble at Real Madrid. Even someone as accomplished as Unai Emery isn't made for those clubs or situations.

Not every person is made for those things.

Tactical knowledge/man management skills isn't always enough if you cannot stomach being under constant stress and pressure of delivering at a club at the size of ours.

Not making a judgement on Glasner as I don't know if he can deliver under those circumstances, but it's not as simple as that is my point.

I did not say that every highly rated manager will make it to the top level

I said that they deserve the chance when they show signs at the level below

Some will get it, but then the point is they usually fail to meet expectations.

A select few can make it big. It's like a table of 5-6 top managers and to sit at it you need to lift one that is already there and tell him to take a hike. That is very hard.

Maybe, but if we were to take a shot at someone like that then Thiago Motta is far more suitable.

You don't know how has the 'IT factor' (LOL) unless you see them in big clubs.
And when I say see them: trust them in long term projects like Klopp-Liverpool, Arteta-Arsenal

You categorically dismiss any b team manager that punched above weight, just because they started from there

CLUELESS
You can project if someone has the it factor fairly well based on how well they perform at B tier clubs.

If for example, you slap around Bayern for 2-3 years or go on a 50 game unbeaten tear in all competitions, you most likely have the it factor.

Not that hard.

I wouldn't disagree with that on Motta,
question is the philosophy/process

Laporta bypasses all that because somehow in his mind the one who coaches Barca B, or has Barca DNA but works in Qatar, is ahead of the so many highly rated prospects that play the football we crave

'usually' only in your mind

You have serious trouble disassociating your idiosyncratic fantasies from reality

No you can't.
Even according to your own logic, this is something that can be tested only at top teams

I hope you don't make this pitch to employers when they ask you your ability to project/forecast reliably. Their response will be:

"Why the fuck do we need to pay you if we need to observe the future to know what we need to know  "

So you come to my words.
Evidence of previous work is taken into account in any coach appointment.
What can't be given is CERTAINTY of success that idiots like you and Serghei request from a Barca coach
but somehow forget/forgot it with Xavi

no,
the top teams are a very limited pool

Same thing. To be a top manager and you have to win titles, the bigger the better. To do that you need a top team. To land a top team job is hard and to be a hit is even harder. So...
