Lionel Messi - v7

Tata used to be scared of Messi.

Andoni Zubizarreta: "Tata Martino, when he was at Barca, used to say to Leo: I know that if you call the president, he throws me out, but hell, you don't have to tell me every day. I already know it".

Messi would have won 10+ Champion's league trophies, if he was mostly coached by harsh disciplinarians, who wouldn't give a shit about fellating his ego. That, of course, also means board/president that allow such disciplinarians full power over dressing room. Coddling and primadonnery undoes success for even greatest talents.

because ancelotti and zidane, guys who won the CL thrice with great teams, are "harsh disciplinarians". makes sense to have a locker room full of superstars and start cracking heads. :tata:

is this what they teach you at clairefontaine or coverciano?

As far as i know, neither of those guys were pets to team veterans, affraid they will be fired, if they don't suck their dicks by turning training camps into holliday resorts and playing the lineups they themselves choose. Obviously the board is complicit with this as they viewed club as business project, where players with famous names get free pass, while development of future projects get put in the trash bin.

you said that messi would have won 10+ CLs with "harsh disciplinarians" as managers - total nonsense to begin with as messi doesn't play alone and even if all his managers were bielsa clones, doesn't mean they would have won shit.

leaving your fantasies aside, i gave you two examples of the most successful managers in the CL, that are not harsh disciplinarians and are usually regarded as pretty close to the players(they coached the very best players in their careers). that doesn't mean zidane or ancelotti don't have rules or don't value some discipline.

when did messi turned training camps into holiday resorts? did he go out fucking hookers(arthur)? did he miss trainings(dembele)? did he choose the lineup(no proof)?

Every coach apart from Lucho was soft and not an authority to players, which is why club was in constant decay ever since Pep left and the poisonous board took over, hiring mostly cuck coaches like Tata, Valverde and Setien. Even Lucho had to tone down some of his demands after collision with complacent dressing room king. With managmement that demanded work ethic and would bench/demand to get rid of lazy/arogant players and replacing them with new, hungry blood and Messi at his peak years, Barca would've done better. Messi himself would also benefit from that even if he denies that.
Ancelotti and Zidane certainly aren't cucks and command authority over their teams, even if they are not harsh. Maybe harsh diciplinarian wasn't the right choice of words, but my point should be clear.

let's be honest here, none of the managers that we hired after guardiola were worldclass or some master tacticians.

lucho is on the same level as valverde really. all this bullshit about him being authoritarian never amounted to anything in reality. he just had it good with having MSN in their prime + alves + prime rakitic.

valverde, for all his faults, steered the ship as best as he could. just didn't have the personnel to reach the same heights in CL - we never won CL by being lucky or not having a really good team. we won it with cruyff's dream team, ronaldinho's barca, pep's 2 wins with arguably the best team in history and lucho's win with the best attack trio ever.

most of the problems came from milking the la masia generation + messi and bringing shit players and managers. even idiots like tata and setien could have won the league. tata lost it at home in the last match of the season.

There haven't been any master tacticians over the past decade that won titles by outsmarting opponents. That's why having someone, who forces players to work harder get more succesfull. You can't make players work hard with spineless omega males, who get too "friendly" with players.

Klopp is as master tactician as it gets.

You need both. Professional players who have a high work ethic, and great managers. Sadly, after Pep left, we've lacked both. We were only elite after Pep for a brief period when MSN were unplayable. About 10 months.
