I really don't get it tbqh. There's half a dozen of them that seriously need a word with themselves. Their team (apparently) won tonight but the majority of their posts are still pissing all over him, or at the very best acknowledging that he wasn't totally shite, but through gritted teeth.

Our standards for Messi are sky high. Messi USED to be the best player in the world by far. Today that's not the case. That's what we are comparing him, to the best player in the world.

Yeah Yeah Yeah! A blind man can see this. It was inevitable. He's still at Barca however, didn't want to be for reasons we all know about (pretty much). He's still creating chances mind, trying to get the team winning, and hey he even scord the winner tonight, amost scored just before that but keep pulled off a remarkable point-blank save. Yahh, wasnt GOAT level Messi, he was just basically a good player tonight who tried to get things going but at the same time screwed a good few up. Just need to chill and try and enjoy the vistory, there really haven't been that many of late.

So bad again but glad he scored that goal.
His free kicks have become a disaster too. Every time we get one it is just a waste of time because Messi actually thinks he can still hit one. Lose so much time on those.

The FKs are baffling; how you can go from the best in the world to the worst in such a short time span. They're lacking power and whip, just nothing really. Taking far too many from central positions - keepers are just standing in the middle and waiting to hoover them up if they even make it on target. Coutinho really should have been given the opportunity for that last one, certainly couldn't do any worse, even if he had a shocking game up to that point.

You're welcome
I have to say, Messi still look awfully happy after every Barca goal and doesnt seem as frustrated as he did in previous seasons. I think he really wants to do well with Barca still but could be his confidence dropped.

Nah it is about impact on field and how dominant they have been and success brought teams and very close.

Some deluded Barca fans cant handle it. Rest of football will just chuckle at those that cant.

Jam trying to convince the world again that Messi and Ronaldo were on the same level where everyone has seen the really weren't.

Also declined due to his age. That one on one around the box where he moved in slowmo and got disposed... he would have passed that guy 10/10 in previous years.
I know it was just one play but it stuck out for me.

Yeah, I know all that damn travesty.

My wonder was more like: How do they contain themselves not to burst out of anger??
Imagine spending 1.5 hours running and fighting at 170 heartbpm, and end up losing or drawing a game like the one tonight.
You walk into the dressing room and you see Messi in front of you? How do you NOT explode?

Let's be honest, he's played like this for years now in terms of walking on the pitch would and rest his legs. The difference was he'd score every week and set up a bunch of chances so the players wouldn't care because they'd have a league winners medal at the end of the season.

Now his end product isn't there enough to justify it. He needs a bunch of chances now just to score one.

First half his attitude wasn't there. Second half it was, he closed down with intensity quite a few times too. Tale of two halves classic

I thought his attitude looked fine and he was making efforts to win that game last night... still didnt run all that much off the ball and slows game down to his speed but he cant do anything about that these days.
