Well BBz, that's the point, Rakitic, Suarez and Busi were over the hill what 2-3 years ago? We were supposed to replace them way earlier or at least have some potential players behind them, so they can take their spot now when they are gone.

You are making it look like firing Valverde was a mistake and these players. You are wrong. Valverde should have been sacked long time ago and Rakitic, Busi and Suarez should have been sent packing 2-3 years ago. We waited too long and didn't bring anyone even with good potential to replace them.

That is the entire point BBZ. We have been shit for years, what is worse? losing 9-2 instead of 8-2? Bottling a 4-0 lead instead of a 3-0? Still playing without intensity and ideas in the most crucial games of the season?

Employing another mediocre manager amidst a string of mediocre managers, Koeman has never been a great club manager out of the Eredivise so imagine my surprise when he proves to be disappointing so far.

I was never that critical of Valverde, he did what was required of him after a turbulent summer and his first two years were much better than what we see now results-wise and stability at the back. It wasn't pretty but it was effective with the squad we had then. Bartomeu and his incompetent sporting department had no idea how to rebuild Barca and he did what was expected of him.

The only thing that bothered me was his choice of 11 away at Anfield after the warning signs from the 1st leg but that debate has been done to death 1000 times. If we are already getting embarrassed in Europe, how can it possibly get much worse? We lost the league last season and will lose it again this season, again how can it really get much worse.

The only real decline from here would not be qualifying for the CL and the knock-on effect it has on attracting players and revenue, because we sure as hell aren't winning under the current circumstances.
