Lionel Messi - v7

Young Messi was an absolute filthy dribbler and a 1 vs 1 slayer no matter the defender. And you only see the speed and intensity when in close replays.

I mean, come on, he'd be more respectful here if he dropped Roberto Carlos' pants.

Like, he drops him dead, the guy can't even get up properly he's so dizzy from that faint. And in like 1 second, there 15m between him and his marker.

Why am I beimg called out for wanting EV sacked after Anfield lol.

Emotions were high after that game and it made me depressed. With hindsight and time to reflect, it's clear EV wasn't at fault for that game.

This messi was really unstoppable in dribbling, i mean really unstoppable. The combination of having GOAT ball control and this pace is deadly for any defender.

His feints, fakes, dummies are far out. Also his awareness of where everyone is. It's like he got the 360 vision + the spidey slow-mo sense combo upgrade

And Scholesy. He's on the wall of shame as well. Messi is basically 4 stages of mastery into 1 player. My favorite stage is 2006-2011. I found out I come back to highlights from this period the most.

Curious to see how you divide the 4 stages of Leo?s career.

Personally, according to his career narrative, I would say:

2005-2008
2009-2013
2014-2017
2018-2020
2021-...

Based on his playing style:

2005-2009(dribbling god winger)
2010-2014(false 9,goat scorer)
2015-2018(MS(N) era)
2019-2021 and onwards(physically declined but with excellent IQ and understanding of the game, paired with improvement of his long shots)

This would be mine

2005-2008 (Dribbling monster)
2009-2013 (GOAT of the monsters)
2014 (Fat monster)
2015-2017 (Three headed monsters)
2018-2021 (A playmaker who scores a huge number of goals with good freekick technique)

Good lord that acceleration. That's like NFL Wide Receiver type acceleration right there. Insane.
