It has been said before, but Messi's form is much more dependent on the team then ever before. If we are playing well, with pace, combining nicely, then he will look great and bag a couple goals.

Doesn't have it in him anymore to burst past players on the dribble, therefore relies much more on combination play. Cut off his passing lanes and he will most likely lose the ball or make a side or back pass. His long-shots and free-kicks have gotten very weak as well apart from a few occasions (v PSG).

Days of him winning us matches by himself are over.

There is true in this post.

But with this defense and goalkeeper you always have to score 3 goals, and that is not easy every game.
Barca scored more goals then anyone but defense destroyed us with ter stegen.

He just doesn't have the strength to carry this team anymore like before, it's normal. Maybe he should've finished that 1v1, but that's about it. Barca desperately need a no. 9 against deep blocks, it's clear as daylight.

He can't play every game anymore. Either rest him every couple of games, or sub him out each game. Last game Griezmann stepped up and won us the game, this game there was nobody to save us.

Also he was selfish again on some actions, tried to dribble their whole team.

what works for deep buses is a header specialist like a YOUNG CR7.

Not sure if Haaland (at the cost of bankruptcy) will be better against deep buses.
