Apparently Laporta will give him 500m/year for 10 years contract

50m a year? So much for the big pay cut considering he wont play close to 10 years. It's a drop in the short term but then we'll have to pay 40-44 year old Messi 200m for an "ambassador role" when he's just sitting on the beach.

44 years old Messi would be funny to see, can sub him for free kicks :p

Laporta is basically just kicking the can down the road with that type of deal. I guess that's what happens when we have presidents elected with 6 year terms.

I doubt Messi will get a huge reduction in salary.

If he is to stay could see them putting together some kind of deal that ties him to club after retirement and long term contract.

Pure fantasy numbers but rather than 300m for a three year contract that is given as ten year contract at 30m a year adjusted for inflation. With some allowances for him to go on loan and play elsewhere at some point so not all playing days tied to Barca.

Laporta or journalists reading my idea in March.

No other explanation.

With PSG saying Messi is not a priority and City seemingly not interested we could probably play the long game with our Messi offer.

34 years old in the summer, and while he can still bring it in league, his marketing ability in a post-covid football world will need to be scrutinized.

It won't be the same as the numbers talked about before. Just like Ronaldo right now.

(🌕) Barcelona is now considering the return of Neymar this summer due to 3 reasons:

? His arrival will be linked to Messi?s continuity
? Quality of the player
? It would generate a positive commercial impact

Actually, the combination Messi-Haaland is more effective and balanced than Messi-Neymar or Messi-Aguero.
We should set the Norvegian player as our main-target this summer. (After we sell the likes of coutinho, umtiti..)

Agree, we need someone who can make runs in the box, ney dont do that anymore and aguero is too slow.

Neymar's actual stamina is very limited, and his defensive work also. He also loves to complicate things, and is very injury-prone,and not the best mentality. He wouldn't be the right partner for Messi.
But with Haaland we can get:
- A high-level runner: someone who doesn't stop running, at attack and at defence, excellent speed and stamina. This is the type of profile we need to balance the profile of Messi and complete him.
- An excellent finisher, can score from half-chances.
- A good header, very present in the box.
- The ball-control and technique is good for a CF.
- He can also be a target-man and free some spaces for players who will come from behind. This can help Messi get more deadly chances in his favorite zone: the zone14, as a dangerous Haaland will already drag with him 2 defenders marking him.
So we can see that the combination of Messi-Haaland is beneficial for both. It helps get the best of each one of them. Messi with his intelligence, technique, vision and passing-range will serve Haaland very well.
