Definitely, losing Messi will cost us right now but getting Neymar (and hence not getting other needed players)　to keep Messi will cost us our future. I'd rather take a short-term loss.

I'm sure Messi would love to play with Neymar, but wouldn't cry if we signed Mbappe or Haaland instead. What he want first and foremost is a team that can win the CL.

Neymar is more about being galaxticos and increasing commerical value while bringing a solid player too.

If Messi thinks that's what's needed for a short term competitive team, then all the transfats from the BBQ are clouding his judgement.

We will have to realise we are now becoming a team that competes for the league, and counts it a success if we reach the CL quarter finals. Ala PSG 2012-2018.
