Lionel Messi - v7

Lennox Lewis used to say, when the going gets tough the tough get going.

If he wants to bail out during tougher times, then we don't need him anymore. Always a legend, sure, the greatest ever for us certainly, but if he is not a solution then he is a problem and we need to part ways.

If it goes to the point where he says to the club's president 'you either do this or I'm out', then he should leave.
The tough times have been the last five years when the incompetent bastard Bartomeu was our president; it would be a great thing if Leo actually manages to get that stupid fuck kicked out

No, these have not been tough times for normal standards. Winning 4 La Ligas in the last 5 years, with a treble, and several domestic doubles in a league like Spains is not very tough times. Let's be serious.

The main problem was that we postponed the reconstruction too long. We should have entered into a reconstruction phase immediately after Lucho left. But we got ourselves a conservative manager who developed nobody and relied on old veterans. So now we have a tougher job ahead.

Apparently Messi is totally pissed lately:
EV fired
Abidal talking shit
A row between Mats and Messi

The latest news is that Messi said to his circles that this summer either he will leave a club or Bartomeu.
This is why several big clubs have contacted Messi in the last 24 hours:

So, not only that we will sink like a Titanic in upcoming Months and years, but also, our sinking ship will burn to death with tons of victims, lol.

A total chaos incoming...

Should I even dare to say, imagine scenes if we get KOd tonight against Bilbao...
Messi will explode

:popcom:

Man... BBZ i'm shocked. I had this image in my head of you as a tough, Eastern European, who prefers strong physical players, doesn't like "choirboys" etc etc

Instead you're coming across more like a sensitive emotional gossip girl, using phrases like "totally pissed" and what's more is you seem to be really enjoying all the drama! lol

Btw not saying it's true or false but El Pais and El Chiringuito (who broke the news about Stegen and Messi) are questionable sources. MD, Sport and others not reporting it.

And this is "totally pissed" Messi today lol....

Tier 1 for Barca news:

The chances of Messi leaving Barca this summer are absolute zero.

I am 100% sure that Messi will not leave unless he is told to. Which will never happen, as it would be suicidal for any director.

He's been half the team during the tough years (2017-2019). It can't get any tougher for a club of Barca's stature (lack of any and all scorers aside from him in CL; lack of any scoring option besides Suarez in the league).

And choosing Barto in a battle between him and Messi. Is BBZ making you write this, dawg :pique:

Messi was definitely in the wrong. I did not see Abidal throwing the players under the bus but rather commenting on how poorly Valverde prepared them, and how some players had expressed those opinions about training not being sufficient.

Messi threw a fit because he wanted to distance himself from that and he was clearly in love with Valverde, frustrated that he got fired, and didn't want to be seen as one of the players who were against EV. He literally asked for Abidal to name the players who criticized EV as if this was some kind of fucking inquisition lol, the Amigos going to hunt down those responsible for getting EV sacked.

Really disappointing and immature from Leo here. People on twitter and reddit were clueless, acting like his comments were shitting on the board for not preparing the squad well. That would be a good hill to stand on, but that is NOT what Leo was commenting on. His comments had to do with EV's exit, and it's clear how much he and the rest of the amigos were frustrated with the management about how EV was booted.

I don't care if the players "took responsibility for Anfield and Roma". They can't just say "Well we failed because we played poorly, end of story". You played poorly because you prepared poorly, trained poorly, lived 100% inside your comfort zone for years under Valverde. That is on the coach. It was not some random chance and singular poor performance on the day that led to us getting humiliated by Liverpool. The writing was on the wall and the coaching was consistently bad and putting us in positions to lose key fixtures against tough teams and get weaker over the course of the season.

Messi aligning himself against that reality proves him to be peak Amigo.

He indeed is. With Pique and Suarez as his right-hand man. TBH, he has been dragging this club along single-handedly since 2016, so with that comes the power. But yeah, you can be the GOAT, but you can NEVER be bigger than the club. And with this board, it has come awfully close.

The only instance where a player has become bigger than the club in history IMO is Jordan and the Bulls.

Jordan is also a higher tier than Messi. Similar level of alien talent, insane CVs, but Jordan played 110% every season and was ruthless (no game 7 allowed). If Messi had that ruthlessness, we would have won a CL in 09/10, 11/12, and 15/16.

Jordan also got smoked by the Celtics and Pistons teams before he won his 1st championship. Plus he was lucky he didn't face the Rockets in 94 and 95 during his retirement. Hakeem would've ran riot over the Bulls.

Bulls got smoked but Jordan was dropping 30 points on each and every one of them since he entered the league. At 50% shooting.

I agree that Jordan was more ruthless than Messi, but what you stated about Game 7 is wrong. He never went in a game 7 IN THE FINALS.He went to a G7 against the Pistons in 98(iirc) and maybe there are more instances that I can’t remember right now.

Still really impressive though.

Also,as Sailor Mars mentioned,he was “lucky” to not face the Rockets in 94 and 95.It is true that he may have lost to them, but most importantly if he hadn’t retired, there’s no way in my mind he is getting the titles in 96-98.

The retirement and the loss against the Magic in 95 helped Jordan and the Bulls to regroup physically and mentally(with key signings such as Rodman),which propelled them to the second threepeat.

In other words, the scenario of Jordan and the Bulls winning EVERY ring between 91 and 98 if he hadn’t retired is laughable in my mind. They would eventually fail, whether that was in 94,95 or 96,as every great dynasty did before them.

Of course he still the GOAT though
