Lionel Messi - v7

At this rate he will have to retire with one or two CdR titles and possibly one La Liga.

So? Appreciate the game because that's all there is basically.

You know Cruyff and all that jazz we're built on? Or not? In that case you are banned.

You are always too sensitive when it comes to Messi.
Common, this is not FC Messi. There will be always Barça with or without Messi.

I think currently our main problem is not technical anymore.

Quality of player? Explain me why leicester could win EPL out of nowhere. Mahrez and Vardy is definitely good but it would result to nothing with NO cohesive teamwork. I think the players must be unite outside the field first before getting unite on the field (technically). You cant be enemy outside the field and be friends inside, professionalism doesnt work like that.

Only if everything between player and coach is fine, the strategy could work.

I think messi knows this too, that our team is lacking the harmony. So, he confronted abidal for saying things that would make team disintegrated. Just tell the name (of course not on media), directly and have a meeting together with the coaches and setien to discuss it properly.

If, what abidal mean is messi and suarez, but he just wasnt brave enough to tell them in media, then barcelona has to prepare a life without those two, and probably jordi alba too, for next season. Tough task, barto!

The Premier League was very poor when Leicester won it, though.

We have to prepare for life without Messi. These fucking clowns in the board can't even make one good signing. Last time we made any decent signings was, 2014. Suarez, Mats and Rakitic.

You can't trust this club to do anything properly. As a football fan I want to see Messi really shine in his final years. He can't do it here at Barca.

Messi has been that good that no good signings in 5 or 6 years now has took this long to really take hold domestically (although Rome, Anfield and other humiliations in Europe where the real wake up calls). Even Messi can't carry this team anymore.

Well, they still won it and proved better than the rest. You have La Liga being very poor yet none of the other teams are top 2 or top 3. Vardy still proved to be a great striker for leicester though, even after all these years so the quality is there. Even if the league is poor, them having mediocre squad still proved the hunger and desire to win it.

Leicester had the best midfield player in the league that season (Kante) and the best two attackers (Mahrez and Vardy). They still had near enough the best three players in the league that season.

Teamwork, hard work and cohesion are just a starting base for any successful team. Barca have been an anomaly for a while because they've been winning titles without a good team or any cohesion because of predominantly one player. But at the top level (CL) you still get found out and Barca have been getting batterings every year in away CL ties. Or it can work the other way where you get extreme luck in CL knockout games but are way short domestically (Real in a few recent seasons).

Barca and Real haven't had that since Guardiola and Mourinho. They've had star quality but not the other things. Even in 2015 it was basically give the ball to MSN and we'll outscore you. Even that didn't prove sustainable (one CL).

I'd say Barca and Madrid right now are better than:

2015-16 Prem

2nd. Arsenal
3rd. Spurs
4th. City
5th. Utd

You have to remember how bad English teams were in the CL during these years. Yes, Leicester had some very good players and a great team, but the whole league level was way below standard.

Kante has been the best midfielder in the league since he signed, at least up to this season. Vardy has consistently been one of the best Premier League strikers and Mahrez a title winner again now at Man City. That was the star quality that made the difference.

Yes, the league had suffered a big drop off which allowed them a free shot at the title but Kante was incredible that year and had Barca signed him rather than Chelsea we'd have won another CL.

Eh, not sure how much better these current Madrid and Barca teams are results wise compared that Leicester team.

In terms of squad value and club stature there is no comparison, but Leicester City finished with 81 points in the 15/16 season. Compare that to the 79 point pace we are currently on and the 84 point pace that Madrid is picking up points at, and there is nothing to suggest any clear superiority either way.

I'd also put a few quid on that Leicester squad knocking us out of a CL tie with the sorry state of affairs at the club currently.

That Leicester side had no CL to worry about either. When a team like that wins the league it means it's weak. And the dismal CL performances demonstrate this

Another gem from Petit and the clowns from RMC Sport.

Saying that, contrary to Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi couldn't play in PL. Not like Messi is scoring for fun everytime he plays a PL team...

Too bad you banned the MU fan. To think he was telling me we should believe whatever those idiots say just because they won the World Cup. French sport "journalism" is one of the worst.
