Wages need to be cut down by 50%. No way this joke of a team can be the highest paid in the world. That's fucked up on so many levels.

Not going to happen unless we are in total financial ruin and can't afford to sustain our current wage level. If that happens, we might really become like Milan and truly don't have to pay much in terms of wages for some mid-level players that we are attracting. Then we are really out of the picture for good.

I'm gonna do a tactical analysis on Suarez and Messi, how terrible they are without the ball and how detrimental to the team in these games vs top sides they've become.

Downloaded the full game HD.

Some do. Some still don't. And even when I do, I'm still amazed by some things in their game. We'll watch the images tomorrow. It's quite incredible. Huge positional problems starting with the first 5-10 mins.

It still baffles me that we went with a 4-4-2 after it failing so spectacularly back to back vs Roma and Liverpool.

Dawg you literally need 1 image , since they both never seem to move when they and Barca don't have the ball.

It would've been actually better if they moved even less, considering how they move . There's worse than not moving. For example sitting 2m offside early in the game while Bayern line push up.

At least if you don't move but happen to be onside, the opponent takes notice of you. If you sit 2m offside while the action is happening you don't even exist.

Formation is irrelevant. The 4-4-2 is only identifiable during the game in small calmer moments. As soon as Bayern press a bit, and they press a lot, our formation is basically non-existent, some odd shape that makes no sense. It's mumbo jumbo.

Correction: It still baffles me that we went with a 4-4-2 with no pace and movement whatsoever up front.

You're welcome
Fun fact: The highest amount of goals Bayern scored in the Bundesliga this season was 6. Let that sink in.

Funnier fact: This is the first time ever in CL that a team lost on a 4 goal deficit, let alone 6.

Edit: this is incorrect. Stat is first time team scores 4 goals in first 31 minutes in knockout game.

Let's start.

Bayern push up mounting incredible pressure around the ball, aided by the fact that Messi takes himself out by standing 10 meters offside. Notice how the space around the ball is megacrowded.

Here pass is played back to Busi (obviously) since nothing else is available, and he passes to Messi who strolls back still offside. Easy possession win by Bayern thanks to Messi not looking to get in the game.

This is first minute, when players should be beaming with energy. No 6-2 or something to say game was over anyway. Just start of the game where you look to impose your rhythm on the opponent.

As a bonus, look at how compact Bayern are. Roughly 35m between last defender and most advanced attacker. With the biggest distances between the players in the least vulnerable positions, backwards (Busi), and behind Suarez, at Roberto. Roberto here is a 2 pass option. As a contrast, in the main playing areas around Suarez, Bayern players are closer, linked as the pieces of a chain.

So, heavy pressure on the most likely pass destination, more relaxed marking on the least dangerous pass options, to keep your options open for quick counters.

Keep that in mind when you see how compact Barca are. :)lol:).

I won't be posting another pic with this play, but when Busi receives the ball, Perisic rushes back very fast as to not let Roberto 1 vs 1 against Alphonso. Even though Alphonso would probably toast him on speed in 1 direct duel. So even in favorable 1 vs 1 cases, their attackers still do the doubling. Extremely hard working and disciplined side. Remember, Messi is out, so they just don't care for him at this point.
