If Pep was in a success mode then he can talk, right now it's Abu Dhabi decision and since 2017 they said if Messi decide to leave we are getting him whatever the cost would be.
The only barrier for them was Messi's decision

Would think Messi plays false nine v better teams and maybe where Silva did v lesser teams.
Messi will score/assist for fun but it is all about winning the CL and league so that is what signing will be gauged on.
