Lionel Messi - v7

IF the rumours to be trusted,Messi informed them in July. Before any big loss.

Bartomeu when Messi tried to inform him he was going to leave at the end of the season.

BTW, July is when all major outlets in Spain were reporting that Messi had cut of all communication lines with Barca when it came to his contract renewal and they were thinking it was a sign he was leaving in 2021. Might have been when he informed them he was leaving now, if it's true of course.

But since when is a player in Spain allowed to not have a release clause in his contract ?

You can sign a contract without one, but if the player want to break his contract a judge or council can set a price that suits the length of his contract and market value. Obviously most clubs or players want one so either part can get the compensation they want/negotiate a higher price or be able to walk away by setting a certain price.

Unai Simon recently signed a new contract for Athletic without a buyout clause.

True that. Imagine. Dani Olmo was sent in exchange deal + cash for halilovic aka new messi and we did fuck all with him, while olmo brought dinamo 20m.
When was the last time la masia product gave us 20m? Im not saying we should kept olmo, but if dinamo zagreb can sell 'our' players for 20m, then how in the fuck half of europe had those la masia talents while we only had 'earned' something out of thiago transfer. Yes, we got rid of a world beater in his position for peanuts.

BOOM! It's over. Veronica Brunati confirming that Messi's release clause expired before the start of 2020/21 season: https://twitter.com/verobrunati/status/1299844577013256192?s=21

https://twitter.com/2010MisterChip/status/1299724530324250624?s=19 You can also see Bartomeu explaining in 2019 that Messi can leave for free before the start of 2020/21 season but "it won't happen as Messi is a cule"

Basically Messi was right since the beginning, after he sent that burofax he's no longer a Barca player. Nothing unprofessional about skipping training, he could already have left for Manchester but I guess he's staying here to negotiate maybe a fee for his departure even if he isn't obligated to.

That's what Messi camp trying to do for Barca to atleast get something. But if this end up in court, court will decide the fee. Messi could just go to another team and let Barca bring the case in court

Didn't know about that.

Btw , regarding the bold part that's something technically every player can do right ( talking about other leagues in other countries) ? Wasn't supposedly the way Barca would get Neymar too ?

That's the Webster Ruling and Article 17 of FIFA's Transfer Regulations: https://www.espn.com/soccer/barcelo...ants-audacious-plan-to-get-the-brazilian-back

https://resources.fifa.com/image/up...2018-2925437.pdf?cloudid=c83ynehmkp62h5vgwg9g

Any player can do it, but it never happens when it comes to major transfers or clubs because it would open a can of worms. It's almost like an unwritten rule by the clubs not to help a player use it and sign that player, or else it becomes a free market and a mess where it becomes a fair game for everyone to exploit it.

Barto is just being dumb right now. It makes no sense to hold Messi against his will. Just take an acceptable fee or cash + players and move on.

Almost all top class players when they had/have an injury, operation or whatever the medical name of the problem should be, they go to barcelona.

And somehow, our fitness, injury history and almost everything that is connected with being match 'ready' is completely opposite of that.
Those bums are not competent enough to advise or pay a proper healthcare for players, instead they go to qatar to get paid for marketing value.

Wrong on so many levels man
