Lionel Messi - v7

10-11 Messi > 11-12 Messi = 14-15 Messi > 12-13 Messi = 09-10 Messi = 18/19 Messi = 08/09 Messi > 16-17 Messi.

10-11 he dropped a double (including a mesmerizing solo) at the Bernabeu in a CL SEMI-FINAL against a billion dollar Real with prime Mourinho and prime CR7. That alone makes it the apex of his career.

10/11 was probably his first season when he was showing he was a GOAT level player, and his CL campaign that season might have been his best but he has had at least 4 season after that where he has better numbers, more goals, more impact on the team (lets not forget 10/11 might be peak barça) etc one or 2 games even if important don't make a season

For me 14/15 = 11/12 > 18/19 = 12/13 = 10/11 > 16/17 > 17/18 > 9/10 > 8/9 > 15/16 > 13/14

Rusty and slow, but still a very good performance technically.

He still has the magic in him and the rest will come with time.

Still far from his best, but 10 dribbles completed.

It was great to see him bury that free kick. It had been awhile since he last scored one for us.

He looked much sharper against Inter. I though that was strange. Even in his bad games, there are still moments of brilliance.

Couldn't watch all the game since i had some other stuff to do but had the game running on my phone , saw some parts but seeing some of the reactions on the livechat or some comments here and there i thought he was having his worst game of the year. Went to sofascore after the game to see that he was the highest rated player ( 9.1 ) , had 1 goal , 2 key passes and 10 dribbles.

LOL.

EZ for the GOAT.

He did, but you could see him getting better troughout the match.
This is basically his preseason.

Agreed. He is not 100%, I think that is clear. He needs more game time and, hopefully, more support from the team to lessen the burden from his shoulders in every match

Something is off about his mood this year. Haven't seem him smile once. Barely bothers to celebrate our goals. He is either seriously fucked off with the board about Ney or realised that even if he breaks his back in the CL, like he did last year, his teammates will let him down anyway.

That was a really bad first half. Slow reactions and bad decisions. Very uncharacteristic of him.
This was his second full game though, and he got better as time went on. Had a nice run, a typical Messi FK goal and some great final balls.
The time has come for the team to take the burden off him. Others needs to produce more without him, so he doesn't feel the pressure of having to do everything on his own. I don't think he can carry us anymore.

Yes, he can!

Haven't you watched him against Inter? His first full game in months and puts on a monstrous performance. At stages of the game when he was attempting extraordinary things I was thinking: "don't be an idiot Leo, you can't do that!" Yet he still pulled it off.

Messi has entered the final stage of his career, but he is not done yet, not even close! He is still unrivaled in world football.
