Lionel Messi - v7

Marcelo Bechler saying that the club would have to decide between the Superleage and Messi (via the CVC investment) lol

The CVC investment is bad business for Barca.

Why would Barca agree to something like this when they could just get a loan from JP Morgan that has purely cash clauses and not sporting ones such as the CVC?

Would be crazy for Barca to agree to that. It would hinder their growth and Spanish football in general.

CVC offer means money now to give Messi more in pocket and strengthen squad but club want to shelve that as not favourable down the line and prevents Super League.

Messi wants the money and better team now and future is irrelevant for him.

Perhaps that is the confict.

Well.... this has taken a long time to sort out. Maybe he's had enough time to change his mind. Let's be honest here, they've been working on a deal for the past 8 weeks. Maybe he thought back in early June or July that Laporta would change a lot of things and make the team more competitive. I did say the other day that Laporta was playing with fire by taking this long.

There's not much to sort out. Messi knew our situation better than anybody and that all the work done and wages freed would be used for his contract, not squad improvements.

If he gave the nod before, and change it now, I'm certain it's about the numbers, not squad quality.

I've been saying he should have left a while now, he really should, why waste the last 2 great seasons you have in you trying to rebuild what Bartomeu fucked up, doesn't make any sense, end your career on a high and also give barca some breathing room to rebuild.

What has Laporta done in last couple months?

What should he do? Can you please specify? Sign Haaland? We don't have money and no one want's to buy our garbage on high wages. No one can repair damage done by Barto in couple of months. It's naive to think otherwise.

If Leo want's to leave for sporting reasons that's fine but unfortunately this is all about the money. Leo knew months ago that no one can rebuild this squad in one season and with our financial situation. If this was about sporting project than he should have said goodbye in June.

La Liga president Javier Tebas gave Barcelona a choice: extend Leo Messi's contract and give up on the Super League, or lose Messi and carry on with the Super League. (Source: marcelobechler) https://t.co/iboS6ltBj7

LooooooooL Tebas showing his moves

He hasnt done anything that was not more or less already in place.

I mean who would be surprised if he didn't agree with the Sporting Project.

Laporta said he believes the current cycle is over when he got elected.

Then proceeds to renew bums like Roberto, sign fossils like Aguero and keep that lower mid-table manager Koeman in charge.

Laporta been all talk since the day he got elected.

-He didn't renew Roberto, and even rumors was that we offered to renew him 2 years in order to spread salary.

-Aguero is one year removed from scoring 23 goals, which is more than any current player under contract has scored in any of the last 2 years. His contract is heavily dependent on variables, and cheap.

-Who was the other options? We tried for Nagelsmann & Flick, Xavi wasn't ready. Midtable coaches were the ones available.

-How was he supposed to end the cycle with previous board giving all our old players long term contracts with huge salaries?

I had a feeling when I heard about the CVC cash injection that there would be some hitch.

Time to let Messi join Emi at Villa and let us focus on playing Juve 8 times a year.

Idk what anyone realistically expected laporta to do with the hand he is as dealt, seriously? What does he do?

Cancel players contracts unilaterally?.
Put us further in debt to buy new players?.

The only bad move he has made was signing Kun that was a waste.

The rest he can't do anything about, he was literally given the worst situation possible from a previous administration perhaps the worst in the history of professional sports. Damn Bartomeu oh yea and we cannot forget his board 🤣.

What are you talking about? We reduced the bills significantly by not renewing the contract of our highest earner

If you didn't notice Messi is also a major source of income for the club lol, he makes far more than he takes and when that's gone we are even more fucked. He is a huge financial net asset and if he does leave you will see the effects of that in the coming years.

Relax, Laporta and Messi are just playing 5D chess with Tebas and our stupid captains not willing to take a pay cut.
