For all the boring talk of Ronaldo's 'longevity' (because that, hard work and goalscoring are really all he has), Messi is still performing very well at 37, and Ronaldo has been pretty finished since 33. He pretty much helped destroy Juve and Man United got even worse with him in the team. An even bigger non-entity than usual at international tournaments too.

Messi (alongside maybe Maradona) is clearly the greatest player of all time. The fact I of all people - a man who is constantly preaching about how good past greats are - thinks so should be telling enough.
Everyone with sense knows it. It should be abundantly obvious.
Some jealous trolls can clown on him for his height or his looks, but he will still be the best footballer in history.

Also, it is a popular opinion to believe Messi is better than Cristiano Ronaldo. That is normal. Most people agree with that.
What's unpopular it seems is what i think - that Messi is much/miles better than him, it's a complete no-contest, and it's a farce of a debate driven by PR and media hype and creation of a forced 'rivalry' to make money. Rather than their actual ability. Because Messi pisses on him from a huge height.
