It wasnt insulting imo. He didnt belittle them. Was confident about their chances and blunt about it.

I actually quite like LVG and think he is good value but if going to try mind games before match then expect come back on it if lose.

Maybe it feels weird since its Messi. Like with Paul Scholes in the past they seem like those mythical players who are awesome yet cant speak. To see him suddenly lash out like that and be petty and thugish over little things feels weird.
I feel its Lahoz fault. His terrible refereeing created this toxic atmosphere where it all escalated with emotions running high.

That has some sense. Lahoz electrified the match. He is not for this level, Messi is right.
