Wow, so they advanced 🤣. I literally forced myself to sleep after it was 2 - 2. Thought they were gonna lose it again. Definitely a tough game, and nothing seems to be certain in this World cup anymore.

Same, wanted to go outside or turn everything off after first half of extra time... Absolute madness... I'm surprised by how emotionless Messi was during the crucial moments of the game(penalties especially) and the fact that he was no dead tired during extra time. He was sublime for most of the time when he had the ball. Him and Emiliano Martinez were magistral for this win. Although I'd like to mention that this game was very toxic and the argentines surely played their part too.. Though I don't know all the stories, but what did Van Gaal say about Argentina that got Messi so pissed?

No matter how this ends for Argentina this World Cup, he has been immense for them. Some past WCs you could have said that he wasn't at his best level and perhaps could have done more, but not this time. He has been incredible.

Allows him freedom behind a striker and three mids behind him as cover.

Trouble is wont dominate ball with two forwards but they dont really have players to do that anyway.

It is a shame Monlina and Acuna miss next game as best two wing backs in squad and give that formation a better chance.

Particualrly as they dont have any wide players to play another way.. bar Di Marie who although was decent on ball when came on didnt look like running freely.

Di Maria isnt fit and that is probably position need to be fittest for .. even then he isnt a defender and Croatia would def target it.

Di maria can't play LWB, if anything he will replace McAllister if they still to this formation.

agreed Acuna in the offensive 3rd his penalty today withstanding leaves alot to be desired, especially compared to Montiel and Especially Molina, but compared to his backup, it's miles better and solid defender.
