Germany had a golden generation of: Lahm, Neuer, Schweinsteiger, Kroos, Ozil, Boateng, Klose, Muller, Hummels etc.

Spain had a golden generation of: Xavi, Iniesta, Casillas, Puyol, Pique, Ramos, Busquets, Xabi Alonso, Silva, Fabregas, Villa, Torres etc.

These players managed 1 WC final and 1 WC trophy

Messi spearheaded Argentina to 2 WC finals and 1 WC trophy in a similar time frame

Yeah when you think about it, 2 finals is impressive. Others have never reached the quarters in their prime :crbust:

Man, this picture seems like a dream... But it's not.

This is the photo where the credits start rolling in the videogame. This lad has completed the game of football.

dream pic !

like someone in the crowd called his name, he turned and lifted the cup

feels like he's looking at you

DonAK

President of FC Barcelona
Should have won in 2010 or 2014 (it was close), but he got the job done.

Way to go, GOAT.

If they had a competent manager, even an average one, I think they would have had a really good chance at winning it in 2010. That was the best Argentina squad or best potential Argentina squad Messi played with……but when you have Maradona as your manager who starts one midfielder against Germany’s four then it is tough

As a testament to his longevity at the top level, look at the time between first major cup win and last major cup win, as a main man in the team

Messi: 2009 CL, 2022 WC - 13.5 years
Pele: 1958 WC, 1970 WC - 12 years
CR7: 2008 CL, 2018 CL - 10 years
ZZ: 1998 WC, 2002 CL - 4 years
Beckenbauer: 1972 Euro, 1976 CL - 4 years
Maradona: 1986 WC, 1989 UEFA cup - 3 years
Cruyff: 1971 CL, 1973 CL - 2 years

R9 isn't even eligible for this list as he only has 1 major cup win (2002 WC)

Insane longevity.

Fuck longevity. Luca Toni won the Serie A golden boot at 38. So did Quadriwhatshisname. CR is a top-20 of all-time, maybe top-10 but no more. R9 miles ahead, kid.

R9 miles ahead of Messi? Chill

Maybe if he stopped eating McDonald's and pizzas through put his career he would have been a competition

The guy who tried jumping into the bus from the bridge fell onto the road. There are pics of him being unconscious and bleeding from the head.

Leo going for the hattrick on Instagram
Three posts with 68m, 47m, 39m likes

Currently destroying social media. Probably because there are no other sporting events or bigger global events in general, in this period. And also probably because people have more time for social media due to the holiday season and vacations. And also maybe because ronaldo was binned early and lots of people jumping ship + the Messi final chapter story coming to the end as it did.
