You're welcome
Pep brought Chyrgynsky and Ibra himself.
Coaches are bad sporting directors, and if you give them the keys to hand-pick players then you have yourself to blame.
AFAIK, Lucho only done that in 2015 when he picked Arda and Vidal, during a time when we didn't have a true SD

Didn't he want Andre Gomes and Paco as well?

Huge match tomorrow in the ballon dor race. Along with the City match, this is his only chance to perform on a big stage before the voting.

The conversation has been polluted by comments about EV, so I came here to remind everyone that we called his football "Valverdeball". This shit was unwatchable. Apart from that I have reminded everyone countless times the fuck-ups he did at anfield, so I won't go through them again. He was a mediocre manager at best, having at his disposal a world class team in it's last legs and that is all.

FWIW....I don't think Lucho is a top manager either, but where he lacks tactically his personality makes up for it somewhat. Which is why Spain have been successful under him.

Being second in their group right now is a non-issue. Sweden are no slouches and Spain have been hampered with injuries to key players and diminishing level of talent. His insistence on playing Busquets is an issue though.

@Rassvet already celebrating Spain crashing under Lucho prematurely like he was celebrating CR7 being irrelevant at Juventus until he stole Messi's shine by going to the team and league that will hype up everything he does.

EV, Lucho and Koeman are similar tactically (average imo), with Koeman being slightly worse than both. Lucho is the best of the group when it comes to personality and managing the locker room. EV was way too submissive and passive, a "good guy" type who bent for the veterans for an easier ride, Koeman is tough and demanding, but also moody, grumpy, and chaotic, which gets him in trouble.

Lucho hit a much better balance between being firm and being fair, as well as pretty likable as a person. Don't remember him having random idiotic feuds with players. He gave almost everyone who was at least competent a fair shake.

Also, Lucho was the only one who benched Amigos when they put in dire performances, I remember Alba and Pique rubbing the bench while fit, in important games. And that is 4-5 years ago when they didn't suck as much.

Koeman isn't slightly worse than both. His lineups, tactics and subs are at least 3 tiers lower than EV and 2 tiers lower than Enrique

No, he's not that far back, the difference is the team is weaker on all levels. Koeman's basic conservative tactics would work just fine if he had MSN upfront for example.

Lucho was blessed with a star-studded team. EV had quality as well. From this point of view, Koeman has it the worst by far. The team needs a manager who is able to add a lot of value because we don't have many world-class players right now. One could argue only De Jong is world-class.

After a few players lowered their salaries and Griezmann left,it is more apparent than ever that Laporta did not want Messi to continue…

Ibra only came about because Villa deal became difficult to negotiate with Valencia

Seems it was never feasible unless.

1) Coutinho, Pjanic, Umtiti, Griezmann, Dembele* all left
2) Transfer revenues were raised by selling peripheral players with value
3) Four Sacred Turtles Lowered their salaries + Dembele*
4) Messi played for 1euro
...
5) Aguero was never signed.

All happened early in the transfer window.

In other words, impossible. But Laporta done as best as humanly possible. Minus the Aguero deal which was straight outta Nobita.

*Either option with Dembele.

Or accept CVC deal like everyone else.
