True but even experienced players can take a season to fit in. Guess the issue for you is the pressure of having to win every game means taking time to fit in isn't allowed.

I don't think PSG is under any big pressure right now. Would have been different if City game was a loss. PSG is taking the time with Donnarumma, Wijnaldum, Ramos (not really because he might never play for PSG at this rythm). It is just that even occasionally, i don't feel anything when i see Wijnaldum play. Like, i don't know. Paredes is a very slow turtle and can't defend for shit but at least he is good at long passes. I don't see any strength on Wijnaldum. He impressed with Duth national team but he was playing higher on the pitch and won't be doing so with PSG due to the superior talent in frontline. Herrera and Gueye have been way beter than him this season.

The point is they lacked the energy tonight. It can be seen immediately. Messi wasn't playing at his best too ofc, but far from being psg's worst player.

Rennes played very quickly on the counter attack, has speedy winger, and attacked with more than half their team. They're putting very forward line, very quick in transition and has more more energy. Again i think the match should be played at a later hour.

Yeah, PSG is very susceptible to counter attack. You can easily carve a way out of the "defensive block".

About fitness and energy, it seems like an inherent weakness of the team. PSG is regularly among the teams with the less km run in the game even in CL.

He's physical in some ways, strong runner on and off the ball. Decent pace but not rapid, relatively strong for his height

I guess my point is that he's closer to Iniesta than, let's say, Yaya Toure. I always thought his close control is by far his best quality. Work rate is definitely there (at least for Liverpool), not sure how he does for PSG in that aspect.

But with their current front 3 they have to commit to some type of football. They are caught somewhere in between different styles.

Wijnaldum is Paulinho 2.0. A midfielder that pops in attack, maybe scores a goal or two. But atrocious when in possession.

We just got a new manager, so why would i?

Also, i was critical of his job with PSG last season as much as anyone, still, he did a good job with Spurs.

You and Wolfe were pretty adamant that he should take over, before Carlo joined.

I dont recall saying he was my favorite, i think i said something to the extent that he would be one of the better options perhaps, if you can find a quote of me saying i would take him above anybody else i'd be surprised.

In any case, the market for trainers right now sucks, so the options are limited.

2nd half, he dropped a disasterclass along with the rest of the team (Neymar being the ABSOLUTE worst by far).

Obviously doesn't matter but they need to fix that forward line fast. IMO, Neymar needs benching.

Ney wont accept bench role, he got angry when he was subbed a few matches ago and i dont think Messi will accept that his best buddy needs to to sit on the bench. Whatever happens, if one player will be on the bench then its di mariaa.

Yeah, Wolfe was the more vocal one of you two about Pochettino joining.

Might be time to bench Neybum. In easier games, we go 433 with Mbappe-Icardi-Messi and then maybe 352 in big games with Mbappe and Messi up front.

It's time to fire Pochettino. They should have done that at the end of last season.

This season they've been the worse team in nearly all games they've played. Only to be bailed out by refs, poor finishing from the other team or moments of individual brilliance.

They are a disaster waiting to happen, in my view.
