The penalty aside, I don’t think Messi’s game was that bad today. Decision-making could have been better I felt, he should have released the ball quicker and passed the ball more (for example the one he passed to Neymar which did create a scoring threat, I thought he could have passed it to Mbappe earlier on the left, who was in a more open position), he can’t dribble past defenders like he did before.

I don’t know what people are excepting from a 34-year old, this is not the prime or the Messi we know any more. You’ve got to have realistic expectations.

Issue have never been about criticizing Messi. Plenty of people who support him and/or Barca do criticize him when he doesn't play well.

It's been about two people in this thread @Rassvet and @BarcaOG shitting on Messi as if he isn't the best player in club history and one of the best players of all-time. Posting fake news, trolling, trying to bait people into long, useless arguments. Even tagging people and attacking them personally for no reason at all. Singlehandedly bringing down the quality of this forum. Years ago when we had mods on this forum who were active this wouldn't happen ofc but since this place is pretty much deserted now it's a free-for-all which is why plenty of older posters have stopped posting now too.

Barca have been around since 1899. Messi is unquestionably the best player in Barca's history, yet in this thread he's treated as one of our worst ever.

The reality is they are 2 average teams. Psg looked good because ancelotti played a defensive game and Madrid were just poor in transition and around the box. These two teams are playing in poor leagues at the moment and it shows. City and Liverpool would easily win against these 2 over two legs and Chelsea wouldn't have too many problems either. If Madrid are anything like they have been at the bernebeu over the last decade in the Champions League they have very little chance of a comeback

PSG has also won against City 2-0, they aren't as bad as people say about them. Alone the individual quality of Verratti, Ney, Mbappe, Di Maria and Messi are enough to win a big match.

I forgot to mention @Fati_Future_BallonDor but he's more of a leech who sticks on to what other people say or do than have his own opinions. Comes across as a bit of a kid or simpleton which is why most go easy on him I think.
