Seemed to me that he didn't mention a specific individual and text posted here was not the original one.

His answer was a longer one tbh, and these Twitter accounts usually only post a few sentences. That's if they manage to translate it well to begin with

But it's obvious that Xavi won't really allow any player to slack. Doesn't matter who he is. It's like Guardiola and Klopp in that aspect.

Not surprised to see that many already were implying he is referring to Messi.

They still want to make it look like Messi is begging for a return.

I doubt Xavi had Messi or Neymar or anyone else in his mind when saying that. It's just how it is with the way he want to play. Doesn't matter who the player is how big you are. If you're going to play for me you're going to press and work hard.

It's why Pep and Klopp are the best of the best. It's non-negotiable. If you don't do it you won't play.

A lot of managers let a player or two with the highest status slack which comes back to bite them in the ass later. You need a strong personality and good communication skills to make it work though. Cannot be an arrogant nobody and make the players respect you and adhere to your principles this way.

Xavi might never be Guardiola or Klopp, but he's going to make the players work because he's got the status as a legendary footballer and personality + leadership skills for it.

Pulisic has scored as many goals against Ligue 1 teams this season as Messi...

Pretty sure he was talking about haaland and mbappe cause the oaf can't press without breaking his body parts and mbappes head is somewhere else
