I'm starting to like this Argentina team, they seem united and work well as a team. If only they had prime Mascherano...

De Paul and Paredes are pretty good. I'm not sure Masch would be much of an upgrade there although he did have a great WC in 2014.

I actually have to agree with you there. Even though Paredes is nowhere near as good defensively as Mash, but his build up play in the 1st phase is needed as the 1st half vs Italy has shown.

Paredes not as good defensively can be partially mitigated with the work rate of the other players except for Messi.

Bartomeu said Messi would have signed a new contract but then the 8-2 result and Suarez eviction changed everything.

Shame on you Setien

Messi as a player- great.

Messi as a human being- greedy as fuck.

The club really doesn't owe him anything imo. We basically rendered ourselves broke paying this guys overinflated wages. He is not the sole cause of our downfall but him and amigos took full advantage of a weak ass president like Farto.

BLAH BLAH

If Messi was playing in French farmers league he would have 80 goals a season

Reality 6 goals

Totally different situations. It is proven that he has scored alot of goals for Argentina against minnows of world football that you find in european qualifying. Mbappe is always going to be the main man for goals at psg and Messi the main creator. I think if mbappe had left you would see messi with alot more than 6 goals

Messi was getting more chances than Neymar a game and Neymar scored twice as many in less minutes.

There was stats last season about Messi missing the most big chances in the top 5 leagues.

Messi should have scored a lot more for PSG.

As for argument about being main creator.. Mbappe got the most assists granted he played more minutes but Neymar created more chances per game and the chance creation stats between the three of them was very similar.

Biggest difference for assists probably was that Mbappe/Neymar finished better for Messi than he did for them.

Messi had a poor season in France by his standards.

Masch gets bonus points for the leadership factor.

Messi Paredes has the club chemistry :messi:

and i don't think Argentinia need a special leader, they already look like a team with a strong mentality. For example when Ramos left Real some guys said Real will miss his leader next season...LL+Cl without their boss as the team has already a great mentality. A main leader is needed when you have some Albas in your team :p

I'm not sure who crested those chances for messi but I do remember mbappe missing alot of chances that messi created for him. Some were unbelievable passes

Messi missed a ton of chances and going by fact Neymar was creating most chances in the team and Mbappe after Messi odds would be on those two.

He missed more chances than anyone.

Mbappe also turned some of those Messi passes into goals in way no other player in world could.

Stop with this idea that Messi was great and other players let him down. He had a poor season domestically for PSG and six goals in French league is awful.

Messi was poor. But he hit the bar/post like what, 10-15 times?

Even if he's in a decline, I don't think the next season is going to be worse. This was just an anomaly. He won't score 30 any time again but sure as hell will score more than 6.

I'm not saying he was great just mentioning he created alot of chances. He definitely had a poor season by his standards and mbappe was clearly the best player on that team. Neymar was also not great though and he's been there for years. Also i have yet to see why there's so much hype about hakimi who was also pretty poor. The whole team barely played any very good matches really. Also remember messi started the season injured and had covid and got minor injuries here and there.

Messi has 0 goals and 0 assists in 540 minutes of Copa America and world cup finals yet they try to pin it all on Higuain/luck.

Argentina's defense did their job in all those finals bar 2007 as well.

I watch the matches while you I believe fan of highlights & stats 😂😂😂

Anyway Penaldo?s fanboy what should I expect 😂😂
