Getting Messi back would ruin everything good we have done so far.

No player would benefit from him coming back, they all would again have to sacrifice their game to run and cover for someone who will walk for 90 minutes while playing every possible game. He is not worth it anymore to center all the play around him, he doesn't offer enough moments of magic to be worth it.

And in this modern age, even one player walking, means failure in the CL against top opposition.

He can return for one game to say godbye to the fans and thats it, everything more than that would be a huge mistake.

As much as it pains me to say but you're absolutely right.

Just because we don't need him to return to Barca does not mean he needs to retire if he is still not ready to retire. I would watch every game of his even if he plays in MLS. Would be fun to watch him tear it up there.

I just think it's the ultimate boss move to go out on a WC win. But of course, love to see him play wherever he can.

If he desires to hang up his boots because it has become too taxing he should. I just think Messi delivers too much joy around the world for it to be a waste to retire early to make a statement. I think the dude loves football way too much anyhow.

he's not really.

people always come up with this story that it would ruin everything good we have done so far. it's bullshit tbf.

buying a proper worldclass striker, getting some good wingers, buying a good CB, these were all transfers that should have happened when messi was here also. but we fucked up on transfers and bought tripe with huge amounts.

restructuring the squad by getting rid of shit players and old ones isn't something that you do because of messi or not.

if messi is finished and we bring him here just for the circus, then yeah it is a bad decision. but he doesn't seem finished and on top form he is the best player in la liga. don't know how he would feel after this season though.

Barca have moved on from Messi. We now have two wingers who will press and run most of the game. The team is structured to play from both wings now.

Getting Messi back would not make any sense even if he still is a great player. Where do you fit him in? Who do you leave out? Sure Messi is a better player than probably any of the players we'd leave out of the starting lineup, but at what cost? Being predictable again and only relying on the LW? Having a gaping hole in the middle with no pressing from him and lack of solidity in the lineup?

Even for Messi himself I'm not sure it makes sense to return if he's fully adapted to PSG now.

1. Will he played for a reduced salary?
2. He will take minutes away from another player in development

He's already won CL multiple times though. It's not like he's a 1 time CL winner

WC makes his resume untouchable

he would lose all the pressure from the argentinia people when he wins wc which could give him the extra motivation and energy to win the cl as he was very disappointed when he lost it in 2019, it's more a personal thing for Messi

1. question makes no sense. club will make an offer that he either accepts or refuses. but i'm sure after the last fiasco both parties would want to be clear from the start on what is possible and what's not.
2. depends where he plays and the system we choose in order to accommodate him. right now only gavi would be impacted i guess. we don't have a young striker and the wingers shouldn't be bothered as hopefully were not cretins to play him on the wing
