Seems fishy Barca and Messi never just agreed to a renewal to avoid issue of being registered as new signing.

Feels like one side or both knew long before now he wasnt to stay.

Or maybe Laporta was stringing Messi along all this time and Messi didn't know till he knew.

Did you see that video of Laporta and Messi before the press conference? It looks like Laporta wanted to hug Messi but Messi basically only gave him a handshake to be polite. lol

The guy didn't say it was an issue. He just stated the price and he was surprised by the number. Maybe they need a special charter to carry the money bags Messi had hidden in his garden ?

Oh I see. You were talking about his presentation may get delayed so I thought it's the same story.

My bad

❗| It would have been legally impossible for Messi to play for free at Bar?a. Any new contract is, by Spanish law, required to be a minimum of 50% of previous wage. And since Messi offered to reduce his salary by 50%, his salary was *literally* as low as possible.

Someone posted here that this rule doesn't exist but I can not find it.. What is the truth?

There are other teams that could afford Messi. Don't be so naive to think it's just PSG that could afford him. City and Chelsea have the money for Messi. Man City has technically only spent 40m this season, so they have more than enough money to make room for Messi, and Chelsea has technically only spent 60m this summer. If they want Messi badly, they will put in an offer for him. Also, PSG just spent 70m on Hakimi, and they just brought in 4 new players who will have huge signing-on fees and wages. To think that it's just PSG after they've just spent a lot already this summer.... is very naive, especially when there are other billionaire owners who can afford him.

We don't know what's going on behind the scenes and what new offers he's getting by the hour. Maybe City, Chelsea.... or whoever is making Messi new proposals.

FFP is currently voided so money is not going to be an issue for PSG. City, Chelsea? Where are the offers though? There have been practical no serious rumor or news linking Messi to those two.

OK, we will see. I think some folks are still in denial out of their disgust for PSG.

2 different guys.

The guy with the presentation got called by the other company in order to provide their services for the presentation. It was initially scheduled for today, then tomorrow and now the guy has said it is a mess and he can't even be sure it will be tomorrow and he will give follow up when he knows more.

The other guy (36k bill for plane) is the insider who is certain that Mbapp? will renew.

Meanwhile, Messi is enjoying himself at home.

We don't know what's going on behind the scenes. He may have offers from those teams, just they haven't been reported yet. Maybe they're about to make him offers? Maybe Messi is giving a chance to make a good offer to him and he'll decide. He has plenty of time on his side. It's all speculation at this point.

I'm not in denial. He could very well join PSG, I was just saying it's nowhere as close as they've been making out. I've been saying it for days. So far I've been right.

And now, it is even said that Messi clan have noticed this past days that the antagonism against PSG is as if he would join Madrid. He is thinking and english side could lead the race.

What a drama !

Messi taking time to make the final decision, a major one as it'll likely be his last 2-3 years in top level football.

Shocker.

Leo Messi is still at Barcelona.
Negotiations are continuing between PSG and the player's clan. No full deal at this time. The optimism remains. Everything can change from one moment to the next. #PSG

I mean the tone has changed.

And where have we seen this before?

PSG may seem hopeful of the signing, but it doesn't mean he'll join them. As I said, he probably has several offers on the table that's not been reported. He'll think things through and see what club is best for him. It's not going to be decided in a few days.

The French media jumped the gun on Friday and tried to put pressure on the Messi camp to sign. Sounds like they're trying to rush this deal through.
