missed a penalty, walked around all game as usual, set up a few 1v1.

People tend to expect more than that from a GOAT.

I know you're a huge Messi stan, but what match were you watching? In the second half he was below average.

Second half wasn't as good, true. He is too old. But still managed to put 3 players on goal while others couldn't, so there is that.

I'll always love Messi and view him as the best player whoever lived. Still one of the best in the world right now. However I have nothing against Laporta not being able to keep him. He has clearly declined simply with age and Barcelona couldn't possibly evolve when they relied on him heavily. We aren't there yet and won't be for another couple years but we can at least say we've got a foundation on how to play without him and vision what we need to be on top again. A long way to go but we'll get there eventually.

Visca el Barca!! :barcascarf:

Yes deservedly so. In this day and age of football if you walk for 70 mins you're a huge liability. Thing is he is walking even more now than two years ago.

Madrid were much worse than I expected although I haven't seen too much of them in La Liga while PSG did much better than I thought and controlled much of the match.

Messi looked the clear wink link in that team alongside possible Danilo. If they had a proper striker in that 9 role, PSG could have smashed Madrid today and would be close to the likes of Bayern and Pool although still behind City.
