i don't often agree with jamdav, but your original point was indeed that Sturridge was better than those players.

then it turn into they would not fit the system and play with sturridge, but if bony can fit the system, "insert top quality player here" can fit it even better

Sturridge 2013 onwards is better than van persie and sanchez in the same time and same iifnot abit less than kun.

My point is ur shouting out names while sturridge outscores them.

Since when is Higs immobile? He hasn't looked good in the WC because of poor fitness, but he can offer everything Sturridge/Bony can. He's made more assists to Messi than any other current ARG forward, or MF, he's been Napoli's leading assist man over all comps, and he's worked alongside Benzema, another 9. You can't be static if you're assisting your teammates with regularity. Every forward is dependent on service, so I don't know how that makes him a lesser player. Its the strike rate, and the ability to convert the half-chances that makes one stand-out, and Higs doesn't fare too badly in that dept. The BEL goal was half-chance, and the chile goal in the qlfs (amongst others) was his own creation.

He hasn't got the pace or flexibility/mobility of Sturridge so cannot offer everything Sturridge can. I wouldn't argue that he is a better finisher though and is a world class striker. However another season like last and Sturridge will be in that category. But I wouldn't want him even if he is a world class finisher because for me he wouldn't fit our system at all. Serie A is his correct environment imo.

Benzema is also a pipe dream.

No what Rodgers seems to be doing is targeting players that can play in the front three who can interchange and play with a high tempo. Ergo our signings of Lallana and Markovic.

We are targeting the likes of Bony because we can't rely on Sturridge all season long. He will need a proper back up and someone to give him good competition and to rotate. Plus also to play with at certain games.

So we won't be looking at an "Alpha" striker but a striker who can fit the system and provide another element to our attack.

Sturridge is now our "Alpha" striker and No.9

Signing Benzema would be terrible with sturridge is doing so well.....People are shouting that they should splash 80 million they got from suarez on world class players but other than Higuain and Benzema who I don't think are world class there are no other names mentioned.....Are there any world class players Liverpool can sign?...I'm expecting Gerrard to decline this season and they are completely ignoring midfield(I'm not convinced about Can)....

Marca saying Liverpool have had a bid of £18m for Moreno accepted, with Aspas going there on loan with a view to buy.
