Funny from Sergio seeing as he hates this club that he came into this thread? Funny that as soon as I said anything bad about Serie A in this thread, he picks it up immediately!!! Interesting....

Banana-Rama they are getting there knickers in a twist because serie a is the least most relevant league out of the big 3 in europe and now with bundesliga over taking them, they can't handle that fact! They need to hold onto their beliefs in that serie a produces something......As I said Serie A reminds me of the premier league in the 1990's. Hidden gems of world class talent in a large swarming pool of shite.

I agree that Serie A is weaker than it used to be but it's not as irrelevant as you make it seem. If we played them right now Juve would probably wipe the floor with us. Inter, Napoli, Fiorentina etc are all very good sides too.

I definitely don't want Suarez to leave but I disagree that joining a top Serie A club would be a huge step back.

Dunno about that. He spent all summer trying to get Joe Allen and messed about with Siggurdson until he went to Spurs instead. He should've put all his efforts towards getting a good striker. If Newcastle can get the likes of Ba and Cisse, while Swansea (his old club) get Michu for practically nothing, then there's something he should have done. I'm not saying he should have bid big money for Falcao or Cavani, but that there are strikers out there that don't cost nearly as much.

Gignac, Gomis, Lisandro Lopez, and Aubameyang from Ligue 1. There's Wilfried and Dries Mertens in the Dutch League. Not to mention Van Wolfswinkel, Huntelaar, etc.

Gignac and Gomis are not good enough, lopez would cost big money, mertens is a winger not a striker, no idea about wilfried, haven't seen him play, just because he scores in the dutch league doesn't guarantee that he's good enough, why would huntelaar join liverpool last summer, he'll have his pick of many clubs when his contract expires and he'll clean up on the signing on fee, wolfswinkel would be a good signing but again he won't come cheap at all, rodgers thought that they were getting a striker with dempsey but liverpool wouldn't pay the extra couple of million to make it happen so not the managers fault, rodgers has done a good job so far in my opinion...........

.

you could use that arguement against any manager, 'the why didn't he get this player' especially for michu. it's about the players he gets. and joe allen is doing a great job and nuri on loan is too, and managers aren't all transfers, brendan has done a great job in making sterling pretty much a starter and using jonjo etc. his doing as much as he can with the thin squad

fact is if you gave the 80m or so spent on downing, henderson, andy carroll to rodgers he would have spent it better.

I think the hype got to Joe Cole. hasn't had one good game in a Liverpool shirt.

Still better than Messi though IMO
