Rumors for Cherki
Looks like a real baller, but would he be disciplined enough to succeed at EPL?
Does that mean Szobozlai is out the door soon?

Thoughts?

Don't know enough about Cherki to make a fair judgement. Looks like a real talent. Think he's 21. Tell me more about his game.

All noises from the club say that Slot is really happy with Szoboszlai. Can't see him leaving soon. I think he has done well this season. His work rate is exceptional. Just overshadowed by Gravenberch completely dominating teams this season.

We are being linked to a lot of players recently but the thing is Edwards and FSG like to do things very quietly. They can easily hide stuff from the media. At this point, take all the LFC speculations with a pinch of salt.

We are definitely looking for a CB and LB. Diaz wants to go to Spain so might need an LW too. Another DM/CM is expected too. Already signed that Georgian Valencia GK(Euros star).

I know enough about Cherki to say that he will never make it at a top club. 100 percent certain, never. I've never been more convinced about something.

If Cherki does well at a top club I will post a picture of myself naked here and leave the forum forever.

That's how certain I am. :alveshat:

Clever wording. You'll just say that Liverpool isn't a top club and PL is a bum league if your prediction backfires. Meh.

Care to explain why?

Cherki been around senior setting for a long time now, making his debut very early. Still 5 years later he plays around 2000 minutes per season. In comparison that is almost what Kounde played so far this season or Felix played for us during whole of last season. And this is while playing for Lyon. He should be their Yamal by now, irreplaceable, but he isn't.

Cherki is a bit like Fekir, he is fun to watch but he is a player that belongs to the Villarreal, West ham, Lazio or Frankfurt of the world. Not the Liverpool ones.

He might make it in top club, but probably in a bench role or a short lived success.

He is just not very good in anything tbh. Not creative or talented enough to be the star of the show, not tactically astute to be a CM, nor quick enough to be a winger, or have an eye for goal.

He is a French Felix, just wasn't lucky enough to have Mendes move quickly to get him big wage from a big move.

From the highlights and complitations of both players only,
he is nothing like Fekir

Fekir had a good shot and a good pass, and that's it
Cherki is 2 levels and more above in terms of technique in small spaces, and looks like he has creative vision

Might not be good enough for Liverpool or top clubs. we will see about that,
but it's not fair to put him in the same category with Fekir in terms of talent

Ouch! There might be some truth to this but seems really disrespectful to Klopp. One thing is for sure, Arne would have slaughtered Madrid with the teams we had in recent years. Klopp just couldn't get past Madrid for some weird reason. @Birdy @KingLeo10 thoughts?

The tweet exaggerates a lot IMO, and is disrespectful to Klopp
The trophies tally of Klopp era does not reflect what a jaggernaut this man created.
Look at only this stat to realize:
He was unlucky many many times

That said, it is true that Klopp had some problem with Madrid especially, either under Zidane or Ancelotti
He would always fall in their naive trap of sitting back and waiting to counter.
Of course, several games (like the 2022 final) required also huge tons of voodoo and Courtois heroics for that to happen

I think Klopp created a generational Liverpool team though despite the lack of maximising silverware potential.

It's probably my bias, but I think history will look more fondly upon the peak of his Liverpool team and winning the first EPL in 20+ years when even compared with Pep's City juggernaut despite their league tally. Pep's City never really had a dominating CL win compared to Klopps for example, and will always have the asterix of endless spending power and 115 charges. Just like Pep's playing career that despite being cleared always has the asterix of Nandropep.

I'd LOVE to agree with you but Football fans have very short memories and nothing but silverware ages well unfortunately.

The real ones will know I guess but it's still a bit heartbreaking for me that many will say shit like "Only 1 PL 1 CL, Klopp overrated af".
