Quality players and he named Henderson. 
Although a Pre season friendly against the 3rd division team is not a good indicator but Liverpool played good fluid football yesterday and the team looks a lot more composed in possession than during last pre season. The new signings did well, Toure and Mignolet didn't have much to do but looked calm and commanding. Aspas was inventive and sharp and probably the MOTM. Interestingly Alberto was played in the Xavi/Pirlo type role and although he didn't do anything brilliant, he looked much more composed on ball than Shelvey. His first touch, and passing range was good so this is how he might be used by Rodgers

I don't he seemed to have the tools to be a good central midfielder. He has vision and good technique and showed good ball retention skills. Don't think he will make it as a centre forward in premier league, he seems to lack some pace and physicality for that and even for Barca B he was more of a creator than a scorer.

He has technique and plays a little more deep lying as a forward, but his best qualities lie in attack. In midfield, sure he'd be able to pass around and be a correct player but I'm not sure if that's really getting the best out of him. He doesn't have to be fast/physical to score goals in the premier league, he has a great brain and can finish very calmly.
Yeah we are stacked in the attacking department so Rodgers may play him as CM. I doubt he has the quality to be as good as Suarez, Sturridge, Aspas and Borini right now so he might have to play CM for now. Playing players in new positions is what Rodgers loves to do, he played Downing as LB and Enrique as a winger for a while last season(to be fair it did improve them both). Considering Liverpool sold Shelvey and bought Alberto for the same amount of money I am happy with that switch even if he plays in CM. I know he can play on the wing as well but I rate Sterling a bit higher than him in that postion

I doubt there is genuine interest either, never found Matri that impressive so the rumor is kinda meh anyway. But I honestly don't get the few people lately who have been saying Sky Italia is a poor source, of course rumors from all sources turn out to be wrong sometimes, that's why they're rumors, but I've found them to be better than most.
