Let's be completely honest, it'll serve him well to avoid Barca until the Big 3's time is done.

No mention of anything of that sort in the local Spanish media. I would not rule it out though. Dybala is rumored to be close to signing with Juventus so it's very likely that we will miss both of those two. Can't see a place in the team for either anyway unless Pedro leaves (not unlikely) and Vietto accepts replacing Pedro's role in the team. That would not be the best move for a young player who needs to play as much as he possibly can to develop further.

¡Gr?*cies Xavi!
I was skeptic too when I couldn't find anything about it in the Spanish media, but apparently (according to reddit), the source is one of the biggest media outlets in Argentina. It might have some substance after all.

Definetely. We can't rule it out and a move to Atlético would be a good thing provided that Vietto would get plenty of playing time. He knows Cholo too as the article mentions.

I am not well-versed when it comes to the Argentinian sports media but such news tend to be picked up by the local media if there was such a deal. Somehow I doubt the authenticity of this news.

In fact I am quite sure that Vietto is waiting for our moves. For instance whether we will sell Pedro or not and whether we are genuinely interested. If not I can very well see him move to Atlético or elsewhere.

That's just my theory.

With Mandzukic likely on his way out, Vietto is one of two players Atletico want to buy. I think if Atletico go for him then he'll play for Simeone next season.

He confirmed he has a 20m release clause. With such a low release clause and the manager who gave him his professional football debut there, he is for sure gonna go to Atletico.

His buy out clause is really low by today's standards, something like £13 million, or 20 million Euros or something. He's easily worth double that, even if his form's dipped a little. I think we should buy him and loan him to a club like Liverpool. He'd walk into their starting 11, develop and then we reap the benefits.

Vietto on his way to Atletico.

They'll pay Villarreal 22m to avoid activating his buyout of 20m and paying taxes.
