Same here. I don't see this system working. Messidependencia just shifted from scoring to creating. Still too much burden on him.

It's not about impatience, too. Just the feeling Lucho is giving me. I'm not seeing tactical variations, just the team again being predictable and depending too much on Messi.
It's impossible not to be dependent on Messi when he's on the pitch. Suárez will need Leos service, we can't escape that.

Lucho's been saying he wants the team less predictable. Right now all creativity is on Messi. It's pretty obvious Suarez will benefit from Leo and vice-versa, but Leo can't be the only source of creation, as it is now. Midfielders as fb babysitters is a waste. Lucho has to find a balance.

^ Because Suarez is one of the best players in the world.

Opponents won't have a hard time to mark (the current) Pedro. He is not dangerous in front of the goal at all. Suarez however is the most hard-working striker in the world besides Cavani and maybe Mandzukic IMO + he is the most dangerous striker out there. The opponent HAS TO try to mark him but at the same time take care of Messi and Neymar. Suarez will be a massive weapon to break down parked buses. If Lucho and the team improve their movement it'll be nearly impossible to take everyone of them out of the game.
If we assume bolded part gets implemented successfully, then we would trash opponents even without Suarez. If not, then Suarez will be not much of a factor anyway, so it basically breaks down to overall creativity and movement, which is mostly the task of middlefielders. As of now, in a lot of matches Barca looks like handball team sieging the opponents half with numbers, but not doing any penetration what so ever. The results of lack of movement and risky, but potentially creative passing. Suarez will not help, if he would roam around the box like all the others and only receive passes while being with the back to the goal and defenders.

TBF, against PSG, it was as if Messi was too fast even for his own teammates. 3 or 4 times he started dribbling PSG players, and running around, and his teammates totally failed to provide him with support/options.

As i see it, Messi was not the problem. Against PSG, his teammates failed.

We'e had 7 clean sheets in 8 games this season and would have won away to PSG if not for stupid individual errors. You people are trying to force a comparison between the 2 coaches but really we're playing 10 times better.

Problem is we still dont creating much, with the class of our players we really should. Add to that at first sign of real competetion our defense buckle and our midfield looks thin as paper.
PSG suceeded in their press much more than we did and when they tire we still are looking for the cross, just as under Tata. Set pieces is once again a problem and Luch stating almost the exact Words as Tata did, we will not focus on Set Pieces ( i really hope i missunderstood that part...).

I had high hopes for Lucho but now that I've seen what he's trying to do I'm very pessimistic.

Same here. I thought we finally had a coach with fresh and smart ideas, but I was quickly proven wrong.

The worst part is that inadequate management will rob this wonderful generation of players of at least 3 of their best years. By the time this board is done feeding amateur coaches to the club, our best players will be in their 30s.

I will never understand people like you. Sigh.

Its only October. Lucho is trying new things, give him a chance and let's see if he can find a better balance for the team. BTW I believe this team will run away with the league this year.

I like Lucho and want him to succeed but there are some people on here who think as fans we should blindly follow everything Lucho and the board does.

As Barca fans we have every right to discuss what Lucho is doing and how it may not correlate into success. That doesn't make us any less of a fan.

The problem for me is that Lucho doesn't seem to have ideas. He has fixations. And the problem with fixations is that they ALWAYS get in the way of progress.

What Lucho exactly achieved as the coach to make you think he had fresh and smart ideas to begin with? I liked Lucho the player. So far Lucho the coach hasn't convinced me a bit. I think so far it was the players who lifted the team, not him. We will have a better image of the whole thing as the season progress, but personally I never expected much from him at the first place.

This team has amazing potential. The only thing stopping it to explode is motivation of "older" players like Iniesta, Messi and Busquets. If Lucho could restart that engine....

What about Rijkaard or Pep?
