Another back line variation by Lucho! How many back lines have we seen now, lost count!

Its the best backline in my opinion. In big games that should be the back 4, but knowing lucho he would replace bartra with mascherano

Verma is way too injury prone. I highly doubt he can stay injury free for a decent time.

Don't see that happening again. First they don't have Di Maria to deliver those crosses anymore (löl), second Ancelotti will not approach a Clasico in such pro-active manner ever again. They got ripped to shreds defensively with Iniesta LW and Nerman RW. Now imagine Nerman in his prefered position + Suarez upfront. They'll set up 4-4-2 counter like the Copa final with Kroos sending long balls into space for Bale and Ronaldo to chase. I don't trust Bartra more than Mascherano in such situations.

Xavi for Rakitic and that is the line-up for me too. Alba in for Mathieu depending on the opponent. And Mathieu instead of Masche in defence, with Mascherano going up in the midfield.

I agree.
Mascherano is fast, i think this is the reason why Lucho let him play as CB. Having Bartra, Pique and Mathieu we are too slow on opponent couterattack.
I would like to see Mascherano in midfield, he was a beast at the WC.
In front there is no doubt.
