That RM won the CL last season. The space that was given to this RM tonight was unbelievable. It was so huge that they didn't even bother going for crosses. RM was the better team tonight, but Barca's chaos made them look better as well.

We are talking about the match in 2013.

I would say, Barca atleast had an idea under Tata ( right or wrong) but under Lucho, it looks like pointless running and then lose the ball.

I know. The defeat itself is not that big of a deal. We have 1 point cushion and the next clasico on our 100.000 seats stadium. What is pretty bad is that I don't trust Lucho. Not one tinny bit. I think his ideas are all wrong for us. It's like he's never played for us and doesn't know the fortes and the minuses of this team. The pressing needs to come back at all costs. Instead, it's even worse at that chapter than during Tata's time here.

What has happened to our pressing game? both under Tata and Lucho we pressed for exactly the first game of the season and then just a glimpse here and there?

Absolutely true. I though I smoke so many cigarettes during the game I was seeing wrong. There were like 5 vs 2 in our defence like 4 times in 10 minutes or so. It was unbelievable.

Indeed. Ugly performance. I don't see any hunger. All that big talk about intensity/hardcore training sessions which results to this? One can still be optimistic from a very bad loss if the coach can present some good alternatives. There is a fundamental difference. In case of Lucho, it's just ZERO. I'm afraid things could go very wrong.

You need the proper elements to do the proper pressing. It's not like that the coach push a button and the team go into the press mode. Most of that great team under Pep has either declined or aged. Who's gonna do the pressing in this team now? Busquests? Xavi? Iniesta? Messi? Neymar? Alves? Pique?

I only see one proper player for doing that and it's Mascherano. And he's not even playing in his natural position in this team.

Calma, calma
Still early days in the season, he's got time to fix things. Ancelotti also messed up tactically in his first Clasico, with Ramos at DM and Bale as false 9 straight back from injury.

It feels to me that Lucho was let down by his players a lot more than he let them down. These players are not capable of playing a 4-4-2 or any defensive shape like a 4-2-3-1 so I wouldn't bank on him doing any of those. A drastic change in team philosophy, lineup and roles would be required, just seems unfeasible with the current squad.

Forget the next Clasico. Let's see if he can beat PSG at home, get us to finish first in the group stages. Thats the next big test, see if he learned anything from the first game.

We aren't winning the CL anyway, not unless some miracle happens in 3-4 months. The league is everything this season. The league or death.

and you believe that? we'll only win against psg because of our home ground and players' good form. it won't be down to lucho's tactics. psg will be more nervous than usual, playing at camp nou, our players will be more motivated, and we'll just have a good day. lucho ain't barca material.

No worries, if we start losing big games then we should start thinking about how bad Lucho is. Losing against Real at Bernabeu isn't very shameful.

Koeman to take over next season!

Lucho's biggest tactical mistake today was IMO playing the predictable XI instead of the smart XI.

We came to this game with a 4-point lead and we were playing away. All we needed was not to loose to get a positive result.

The smart XI would've been a 4-4-2, with Ney/Messi upfront, Masch-Bus-Rak-Iniesta in midfield, and Alba-Mathieu-Pique-Alves in defense. This way we wouldn't have found ourselves outnumbered in midfield, we would've had our most capable CB (mathieu) playing at the heart of our defense instead of out wide defending nobody; and in case we were behind we still have would've had Suarez as an impact sub.

I will be surprised if we win anything this season. This performance was the worst i have seen since bayern rout. Why can't we bring back pep. I miss him
